Absolutely. I might stop looking both ways when I cross the road as well, waste of time!

It's obvious forensic police work wasn't your forte...

I'm trying hard to work out your logic. There is strong evidence that wearing a face mask reduces the chances of someone with a respiratory infection transmitting it as well as good evidence that it will reduce the chances of catching an infection.

As  you're so confident masks have no role in preventing the transmission of infection, I take it you're happy for the surgeon (and the rest of the theatre staff) not to bother wearing them when they do an operation on you.

Oh and didn't a support staff member test positive yesterday? We don't know who they've been in close contact with,  possibly not wearing a mask.

Regardless of the different views individuals might have on the PPE used by Joe Public, there needs to be a forensic and brutally exposing investigation of who and how this procurement was managed and authorised. I'm involved in polymer recycling and am aware, via a good industry contact, that just NHS England (not Scotland or Wales) has 5000 tons of plastic visors in storeage costing millions/month.(40+ years normal demand) They are recyclable, but the process is complex and expensive since most visors have been poorly designed with the use of clear plastic, elastics and expanded foams. My guess all will end up in Waste to Energy furnaces. The purchase prices also need thorough investigation - a basic face visor, with a decent margin including delivery logistic to point of retail sale would cost a maximum of 50p, even cheaper for NHS distribution. I've yet to find anyone who can explain to me how a visor or plastic apron can have a sell-by date of less than 10 years. Any wise contributor here care to offer an explanation please?
I guess there are similar scenarios across Scotland and Wales. And rest of EU?
