Why should people get behind something that they don’t want, don’t agree with and didn’t vote for?

It doesn’t mean that I don’t want it to be successful, but I’m not on board with it as an idea and it’s not on me to make it succeed - it’s those who campaigned for it and won to deliver.

I am asking this honestly, but what exactly do you not agree with? Lack of freedom of movement, control of our laws by the EU Court, Law being made by a commission that is not elected?

I am very interested in the what it is you are going to miss?

Freedom of movement is the main thing that affects me personally. I am moving to Spain this week, which has had to be brought forward in our plans because of the end of year cut off to take residency.

I am aware that it is possible to achieve residency without living in the EU, and that lots of people do it, but the process is longer and the bar is higher than it is currently, and it is also country specific.

The wider points about “taking back control” were all vague at best, and the issues about money were at best disingenuous, or at worst were outright lies.

We had control of our borders, we always could veto laws, we opted out of a single currency and so any further integration of defence or similar would have been up for debate as well. I believe that we have benefited from the increase in environmental and trading standards, and that we were a stronger player in the market than we will be outside of it. The UK never really took being in the EU particularly seriously - turnout at the European elections was always low, general sharing of information about the EU was poor. If we had wanted to know or to have more of a say then the options were there, We just didn’t take them.

The EU certainly isn’t perfect, but it wasn’t broken. The UK opted to quit as a result of lies and false information, and we will be weaker as a result. It’s caused division in the UK and will lead to the break up of the Union. It’s cost billions already, will cost billions more and will damage the economy.

But maybe I should ask you - what specific laws did you disagree with? What was so bad that quitting the whole thing was the only answer?

Fair enough.

As a student of history and politics, I tend to value Democracy very highly.

One of the reasons the UK public had an indefirence to EU elections, is that the posts that were being on voted for, were for MEPs in the Secondary reviosonary chamber. They had little or now difference in the direction.

I do not like the idea of being part of a European Super state. It was that that scared me and the lack of democracy.

I do not plan on living abroad and will set that up if I need to.

Good luck with your move. I hope it is a good one.

Well, it's all going swimmingly well, isn't it!

Fish, anyone? No, its rotting.

Shellfish your thing? Well, they've been landed in Denmark because they cant move them fast enough here.

Pigs for sale - no - you haven't got the right paperwork.

Understand Rules of Origin? No, back to the end of the line and learn it.

Still stuck in Kent without your Kermit? Best go back to your warehouse and apply!

Trading EU stocks in London? No you're not - forbidden.

Fancy a salad? Nope - cant get them here through customs.

Exports, anyone? No - they're held up in customs.

No barriers to trade? No - barriers and extra charges everywhere.

Trade deals - yes - with Greenland for one Cod a year and some ice for the bbq...

Massive trade deal with Trump? No trade deal for some time with Biden.

Getting on well with the neighbours? No - they're trying to nick all our vaccines whilst Boris insults their politicians

Trying to set up a G10 to advance democratic market economies? No - Japan is against it, as are others.

Work in the Service industry? Don't worry - your work isn't covered by any of the arrangements, so 80% of UK GDP cant be exported without serious hassle.

More UK businesses being set up? Yes - in EU to avoid extra taxes and customs "formalities"

Plenty of nurses? No - 35,000 short.

Happy UK? No, Scotland and N. Ireland in favour of quitting Union, Wales, after never having blinked on the issue for many many years id becoming more in favour of leaving

Exporting still? No - 65% of lorries return to EU empty - balance of payments heading south of South.

Singapore-on-Thames? No - more like Ruritania-on-beta blockers

Looking good? No - like a bunch of scruffy, rank amateurs, but at least there's no tax on tampons anymore thanks to being able to make our own laws...

And its only January...

What exactly did you win? What tangible benefit is the person on the street receiving from leaving the EU?
