I was quite hoping our new rugby manager would become known as Rhubarb, but I didn't want it to be me to suggest it.

Nice one, Centurion! Like it, like it

Rhubarb (or Roobarb) was meant for the manager not the coach.

I think I should be disGustard by that, but for QP, it was actually quite funny.

No, I just think it's a dreadful nickname. Sounds like gusset.

As long as it's not prefixed by "Russet", that shouldn't be a problem... Unless our wingers need runs.

It’s an absolutely awful and unoriginal nick name

It’s an absolutely awful and unoriginal nick name

Sports teams are hardly reknowned for anything else

Add a “y” or an “o” or an “s” - or their initials - that’s basicslly it.

It's not one that we've come up with. It's what he's been known as for a long time. I guess that as Gusset was already taken (Guscott) it was the next obvious choice

Nice work getting three "there"'s into one sentence! :D

What’s your problem with it RR?  It’s how he’s referred to by players coaches and other.  Do ou object to Nev, Bomb or Minty?  If you can provide a decent reason I will stop if not then get used to it.

I'm not the OP but I just don't like the use of nicknames by people who don't actually know the person. Can't quite put my finger on why, I just find it grates. If I was a public figure and found strangers on the internet using my nickname I'd find it slightly unsettling I think.

I thank you -- I'll leave it there as a lesson to our less literate colleagues

Sure, but this one just sounds particularly hideous.

That's pretty much how I feel about it - although I bet I've done it at some point.
