I actually like the fact that this makes Marcus clear first choice going into next season. He deserves that based on his performances this season and you'd even have a case to say he's been one of the most consistent fly halves in the Prem this season. He compares favourably to pretty much anyone, bar maybe Cipriani who has been a class above the rest of the field. Herron has been identified as a guy who can come in and push Marcus and bring something a bit different - all feels like the perfect scenario actually.
