We dominated the last 20 v Chiefs and we could have won.Given where we were last year Gussie has worked miracles and to finish in the top half and maybe 4th is extraordinary.I am very happy with the progress achieved

I was very happy before we lost 6 on the bounce.

I have never seen a quins supporter that is happy with us losing anything!  We know that we will lose at times but happy about it no!

Shouldn't the title to this thread read simply "2 games left"? On current form I think Saints have got 4th. They're one of the form teams in the Prem and just hit their stride at the right time. I wouldn't even put it past them to sneak into the final with the squad they're able to put out at the moment versus some of the injury-hit squads we're seeing at the tail end of the season.

I'm still very proud that we look like we should end up with a top 6 finish after the shocker that was last season and if we were to snatch 4th that would be a very nice surprise but definitely a surprise at this point.

It's not in our hands any more- we need Saints to lose a match. I suspect they will, Vs Exeter, but by then Ex will have no reason other than pride to rest players and take it easy and Saints will have everything to treat it like a final.

From memory, Exeter slapped us at home a few years ago in the last game prior to the play-offs - Baxter will want them running smoothly before the semi final against 4th placed team, that might still be us if we can win the last two. Saints won't have an easy ride down there.

My saints supporting friends thinks they will rest players in the last game but i raised the point if Exeter rest players and let saints win at Sandy they will give Saints the chance to go back to sandy for the Semi and play again with the confidence boost of already winning there.

I reckon Saints would have beaten Exe 2 days ago.

Going to be an interesting game this week, no idea which Tigers will turn up, if it's the one that won at Newcastle we have a chance, we just have little confidence it would seem.
Some mouthwateringly match ups though, the battle between the 4 props will be worth the admission ticket alone, then there's Smith, the pretender against Ford the incumbent, both seem to be on fire just now. We are clear under dogs and there's no gamesmanship in that statement, but we desperately need a win, I'll take 0-3 if I have to .

Saints have currently 16 players not available for selection due to injury and most of them would be included in a Saints top 23 squad so they won’t have the luxury to rest too many players over the 2 remaking games, something shown when they had to recently put out a very weakened Wanderers team against Saracens which had 8 guest players, something that the score line reflected.

To be fair, we very regularly put out an A-League team that's 50%+ guest players. That's not unusual. 16 injured players also doesn't sound particularly high for a Prem squad at this stage in the season. It's more a case of which players are injured. Saints can still field a very competitive XV.

I think I've been to pretty much every home A League game for the last 5 years plus, but I can't recall one game where we had over 50% guests.

What games are you thinking of?

We normally field 3/4 Guests for an A game , at the Bath Fixture played at Farnham in December we only had one ( the Capt of the Army team from memory as a replacement 10 ), Im sure the most Ive seen over the last few seasons at The Stoop is 5 which was in the recent fixture against Sarries

I think the recent game against Glaws had 6 because the 1st XV squad were away in France and took travelling reserves with them

Sounds about right to me.

I think Mr Tom must have made it up.
