Id love him to stay, think he is a god option that gives us something different but, last 2 weeks we have been linked with 2 centres (Forsythe from Yorks and Campagnero from Wasps).  Bearing in mind we have Salli, Tapuai and Marchant (all in contract) Lasike plus Lang and Murley/Gabs/Barlow who can play centre, I could imagine we may be letting one of the "main" four go.  The only one I would guess is OOC is Lasike.  I know he only signed this season and is a PG player, but I would not have been surprised if he only had a one year deal to see how he went (which is pretty well I think).  Just seems having Salli, Marchant, Tapuai, Laskie and Campagnaro is a bit overkill at centre.  Im sure PG knows what he is doing though, a bit better than I do!!!!!!

If Campagnaro does join then he's a 13 so would be competing directly with Marchant (Saili also an option there). That leaves Saili, Tapuai and Lasike to fight it out for the 12 shirt. 5 out-and-out centres doesn't seem overkill in a pretty attritional position. Obviously there are others who can cover there too but looks like he wants to develop Lang as a 10 first and foremost and Gabs and Murley should also remain primarily wingers. Forsyth joining would be overkill imo - but he didn't make it onto this most recent TRP list, did he?

In terms of the four centres we have, I am really impressed. They have real pace and strength and are very good in attack and defence. I think that cohesion needs to built on, rather than introducing a new element. Saili and Marchant are first choice, for me. Benny is a very good alternative. Lasike is also very good but his time with us seems to have been interrupted by needing to get fit and then injury. I think his impending ban might further interrupt things! Therefore, he will be like a new signing in September (WC dependent!!!)

I suppose the key thing is cover for Marchant at 13. He has played a lot of games, because he deserves to. He has been our best player, pretty much. Who in the squad could give him a break? Therefore, a quality 13 from the academy would be good to see emerge, perhaps over the summer.

Lasike's defence has not been up to it this season — not in terms of tackling power but positioning awareness and alignment.
