So annoying, potentially 8 empty seats great idea to swap games though

It's not often I have a thought which is fairly accepted! But in this case, I really don't know why it isn't a possibility. I'm almost certain if everyone who was a ticket holder, or was interested in attending, would always pick the earlier kick off if asked.

The Mark Evans 50,000 mark though was when tickets were being flogged off dirt cheap. Tickets are now properly priced I think. It might still be the same mark though, as we probably have to pay more for the stadium now, but I doubt the club would bother if we're only making an additional profit based on 5,000 fans

They don't have much choice but to "bother" - they've presumably already sold more tickets to the Big Game than the Stoop can hold, and not had so many handed back that it drops back below 14,500. And average profit per game was at around £300,000, so even an extra 5,000 tickets at £10k a pop is worth having, even more so if it's going at more normal prices.

I suspect (based purely on gut feeling) that there would be such a small number waiting to see the ladies that it would not look good, and would have a poor atmosphere. Many people may come along early either to beat traffic or simply to enjoy the atmosphere building for the men's game.

I went to watch an England ladies match when it was help after a Mens match a few years ago.
It was a dreadful experience. Basically, they close all of the bars and facilities 2 hours after the main game finishes.
Therefore, they were closing bars and toilets and even making us move seats during the 2nd half of the game.
And, there lots of really, really drunk people still hanging around. So, the stewards had work to do.
Really not great.

True, hadn't thought of that!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the time change is driven by TV. It looks like Leicester v Bath is already scheduled at 3pm, but the Big Game is one of the matches they like to put on TV because of the scale and additional ballyhoo around it, so it seems likely that BT will clear space in the schedule to show it as a second match.

This game is great example of how rugby will lose supporters.

Originally this weekend was a Wasps/Worcester fixture so when their fixtures were cancelled a number of us booked a holiday that weekend

The Exeter game was moved to this weekend - frustrating if you had booked something else

It was then made Big Game - some don't like big HQ

The time is then changed

For some of us who try to get to every home game and plan around it the continual change of plans have made this impossible. Down from 12 seats to less than 5. Spectators treated very poorly for this fixture.

I can understand your frustration but it's a bit hyperbolic to say that "this is how rugby will lose supporters"  and "Spectators treated very poorly".

What would you have had the club do? Intervene with the RMT over the Government's heads to negotiate a way out of the strike? Get Jillings and co to pony up the cash to keep Wasps and Worcester afloat? Turn down the proposed date (assuming that the options were limited by when Twickenham has capacity and when the police will accept another large game)? Refuse to move the kick off for TV? Abandon the fixture altogether?

The club and the fixture have had to contend with some pretty unprecedented events that were outside their control. They've done pretty well to get the fixture back on at all.

There was no suggestion that the club could have done anything else as we don't know the detail to comment on that but merely an observation that if supporters are messed around too much then they may well vote with their feet.

This reminds me of the fans who gripe about moving games from Saturday to Friday or Sunday. From my perspective, these were usually the only games I could go to as I was usually playing on a Saturday.

Yup and that is one personal issue with having to move BG14. There are very few community games on between Christmas and New Year. Many of those "not real fans" who turn up to Big Game are people who are generally playing when pro matches are on.

Unfortunately March 4th is a league match for us. We may be able to move kick off earlier but if not, the 20+ players from our club who normally go (and bring friends) will miss this one.

I think that the reduced capacity is based on the difficulty of selling 80,000 tickets.
Basically, it is easier to sell 80k tickets round Xmas time when people are all looking for an activity to do with friends/family.
But, it is more difficult on a random Saturday in March when people are still paying off the Xmas credit card bills.

It also doesn’t help that it’s during the 6 Nations period and close to European games which people probably prioritise and aren’t cheap

But would also think as on a bye weekend with 6Nations interest high a great time to promote the game at club level
