A-league team against Sarries
« on: Monday 01-Oct-2018, 12:15* »
HARLEQUINS WILL TAKE ON SARACENS STORM IN ROUND 4 OF THE PREMIERSHIP RUGBY SHIELD TONIGHT AT ALLIANZ PARK (KICK-OFF 19:45).

Archie White once again captains the side which has just one change from the backline that saw off Bath United in the last round. Charlie Walker shifts to the left wing while Ross Chisholm comes in at fullback.

In the forwards, Lewis Boyce and George Merrick start - at loosehead prop and in the second row respectively - in an otherwise unchanged starting pack.

Four guests are named in the 23-man squad, including James Dixon who scored 11 points from fly-half in last week's victory over Bath.

He was at Glos on Saturday traveling as reserve, so maybe they don't want to risk him in case he's needed this weekend.

Good to see Merrick back

Gray returns. Think Taylor was in our academy too wasn't?

Didn't know there was a third Vunipola brother (assuming they are related).

Their pack is pretty strong - du Plessis, Day, Clark and Earl. Could be a pretty uncomfortable night for our guys.

Don't know their backs at all

I was thinking the same unless we’re looking at signing him on a lot less money. Does seem odd, also hints that Cat is not as ready as we would have thought i’d Expect him to play some A games \.

Kick off delayed to 20:15 due to traffic.
Charlie Walker is ill and so Max Coyle starts and Louis Lynagh on the bench

Penalty for Sarries from every single scrum so far! Embarrassing.

There’s a clear playing style at all levels of the club - giving away three times as many penalties as the opposition. Amazed there’s not been at least one yellow card against Quins so far.

The penalty count was 10-8 in our favour Saturday but I do share your frustration

Look at the respective strengths of our starting packs. Bit harsh to criticise our guys too heavily for struggling against theirs
