Add to this we have Cheeseman and Laskie.  Some exciting centre options. Im also a Cheeseman fan. just hope we stick him to one position and give him a chance.

That's a concern for both Lang and Cheeseman ie given a chance. Both are versatile  and obvious 'game changers' but both can't really be on the bench at the same time unless we start getting short of 10s, in which case Lang and Cheeseman fit the cover required.

Lang will be looking for more starts this season due to his international aspirations and Cheeseman will be looking to cement a position in the centre, fortunately he's turning pretty adept at either 12/13 so has that option. Nice problems to have as both have talents but I fear one or both will be off if not being given a run of games soon.

Definitely good problems to have; it's been a while since we had multiple options in so many places. We need to keep them happy and give them game time, but if we can get some good traction in the Prem, Cup and A league, then we should be able to keep everyone busy. During the International windows, that will give them a chance to shine, and if everyone is fit, allows Gustard to work on options such as squad rotations.

Seems like Gustard won’t have the problem of international call ups at 10, 12 or 13. Subject to injuries Lang and Cheeseman may be warming a few benches and nothing much more this season. Interesting to see how the coaches would handle this.

Townsend says he is a first rate ball carrier and tackler

Lang's defence was a horror show for us at times last season. Let's hope Townsend has turned him into the player that he's publicly praising.

Lang has the right attitude and a bit of swagger - he needs games and to be nailed onto to one position - Quins need to think about their 12 game plan - if we're going for a Playmaker 12, then Lang could be the answer.

Edited for idiocy!!!!

Exeter don't do that, though? They usually have a more straight-line 12, and put Slade at 13.

Would be nice to have the option, of course.
