Admin. Please shutdown the dumb Word Association thread

Its appreciated that you allowed it on the old board to keep the site alive but this rubbish thread is now a joke on this new board.  The same half a dozen posters who have no interest in rugby or nothing to do at work keeping the thing at the top.

Why not start a poll to see what others think?

You're not obliged to look at it. And the posters who frequent it actually contribute to rugby discussions.

It was not allowed on the old board to keep the site alive, it was match reports and other special items that did that. I have no idea who you are and what your level of interest in rugby is so will not comment, I certainly object to you preaching to me about my commitment to a sport I love.

the one thing that would be nice is if it was in a different forum on this board.  the issue I have is that it always comes up first in the "new posts" section - basically pushing the other topics off the screen on my mobile.  I think that you can have multiple sections on this forum and putting it into its own section would probably keep everyone happy

Yep, please put it in its own forum - should be easy to do and will surely keep both camps happy.

Funny enough I had been thinking of maybe putting it on a separate board, a "Non Rugby" board or some such. Maybe somewhere you can all go and discuss brexit or Love Island or whatever.

It is the most recognisable of all the threads. Don't understand why it causes offence. I mean I never read it, unless pressing the "next" button takes me there by accident. I just ignore it and when I've read everything else press the "Mark Read" button.

Still, if you can't ignore it now it's on a totally different board then you really do have issues!

Just to clarify. Should all O/T threads now be started on that board?

If it's really not in the least rugby related, like Love Island, or I could tell you about how great the Iron Maiden gig was on Friday night, then I'd say yes, post it over there. If we're discussing the England team, Harlequins Ladies, whether the ball has to go backwards to avoid being a forward pass, then I'd say post it on here. I can always move it if there's howls of protest.

The protest is at snowflakes who can’t avoid reading a post they don’t like. It’s a message board, if you give it a try sometimes there are threads that are just frivolous.

If you only want dull earnest irrelevant discussion of rugby and nothing else try Stuart Barnes in the Times.

My point is that it’s consistently at the top. Clearly being used to up their post numbers to be flipping captain or whatever. Playground on a now decent site. Get yourselfs an iphone game and let the big girls and boys post about rugby related topics.

Oh dear, I never participated in it, never read it but it isn't/wasn't difficult to ignore.
Big girls and boys don't moan about a single message that appears at the top of the message board because some other posters want to play their silly game.

Yawn - it’s a 1990s anonymous chat room - lighten up. Click on something else.
