Have any figures been released on the number of memberships taken up this year?

It's hard to compare like for like attendance figures. It depends if the game is Friday, Saturday or Sunday and what time it is.  It depends if it's early in the season or late. It depends who we're playing.

However, our first two home games last season (ignoring LDH)
9th Sept Gloucester Att: 12,919
23 Sept Tigers 14,418

And the actual home fixtures we played last year were
6 Oct Sale 14,128
4 Mar Bath 7,450 (Sun)

At least we nearly doubled last years attendance for the Bath game.

DOK , its also weather dependent ,I think  last years Bath game was cancelled on the day on the day of the game ( Friday) and rebooked for the Sunday  because of the 'Beast from the East ' trains and roads were scuppered .

I'd like to see stats on the make up of the crowd latterly. My impression is that there are a lot more ladies and children coming these days and less reliance on gin swilling old farts.

Which should please Blucherquin at least.

Most of the gin-swillers where I live are ladies! You could describe them as old farts, but I would advise against it unless you have private medical insurance...

Could I throw in the fact that it isn't cheap to watch Premiership rugby these days. £30 for the cheapest ticket at Quins is sure to put some people off.
I must add that I'm not here to protest that it's too expensive, but this surely must be a factor in more empty seats than usual?

I agree. Then add £100 for travel and F&B and it is an expensive day out.

Absolutely agree, it's the cost. Not so many families in the South stand as there have been in previous years. Could also be that there wasn't a big game at Twickenham to kick the season off, I think there is an afterglow from that event, even though I don't enjoy it much.

so with no LDH this year bet attendance for the league is going to be down a quite a few thousand over last year. Always a bit flakey the first few games of the season getting over summer vacations, has there been an official release on membership numbers, I must have missed dit.

Nah no news on membership, assume it's down, why wouldn't it be after the last two years. Gustard appointment was v close to the deadline, lots of people may have decided it's not worth the cost after sitting through that rubbish.

A fair few people have vanished from around us in the middle of the west stand over the last two years. Seats behind us now appear to be owned by a corporate, seats in front used to be season ticket but this year are avail on match-by-match.

Hence the total lack of any atmosphere
the  last thing most want at a sports event is a load of screaming kids and a child running onto the pitch with his parents doing a high five when he was returned to them

There are 8 seats that used to be taken by ST holders who have not returned this season.
I personally know 7 people who did not renew.
For me it is 2 hours from the door of my house to the stoop - for the first time since I started going which was in 2001 I am seriously wondering whether or not to bother to go next home game - or many others.
I do not expect my team to win every week and did not miss when we were relegated, however just watching the same thing for 3 seasons has finally broken me.
If things do not improve I and the 3 guys I have been going with for many years will not renew.
