Yep your right just one score, imagine if that was a full strength Exeter or Sarries

Against a full strength Quins?!?!

The only decent results we have had recently have been against weaker sides
Sarries and Exeter in prem shield both much weaker teams even with our injuries

Bath in champions cup fielded a weak side as had nothing to play for
Yes we are missing 23 currently but those stats are worrying

We’ve been poor recently regardless but our lack of first choice players is certainly a contributing factor.

Another weak effort. Bath, as usual, did their level best to hand us the game. Pretty much what I expected from Quins.

That's the stat that's most worrying.

If Murley is out that means we haven’t got enough backs so I think we should experiment with back row or mobile second row in the centre. We will end up with two 10s and maybe three 9s on the pitch. Semi must start next week possibly on the wing, he could probably play anywhere except front row.

It`s all about hanging on in there at the moment, get the injured players back and put together a run at the end of the season and (almost) anything is possible.

Semi in the centre, if we really are desperate.

Herron seemed to have an off day today, for the limited amount that I saw. Let's just hope it's a blip.

Before the game I said that I would be happy with a losing bonus point.
We achieved that.
So, therefore happy with the result

Just got back, a long day, but we still enjoyed it. Bath is a good place to go, as I said on way home you don’t see Japanese tourists outside the Ricoh! The Quins fans were great, when we went ahead I think they would have heard COYQ! in the Cathedral! Maybe.... When we were either 12-8 or 12-11 up, Gabs almost scored in the corner. Almost. I think McConnochie got back. He was very good today.

Didn’t even realise Herron had gone off!  Maybe because we got back to our seats late after HT, the stewards there do keep people back until a break in play.  Herron looks potentially very good, but he ran into contact repeatedly, presumably hoping to make a break, but every time you could see he was going to get flattened.

COYQ!

Thanks for this. What do you think cost us today? Is it as simple as injuries and a bit (maybe a lot) of poor discipline? What positives can we take into Exeter on Saturday?

Gussy was right about Irish last week, yes we played poorly but we were fighting to get back into it until the sucker punch of the charge down. Today I was listening on the radio via BBC Bristol. They made no attempt at balance, nor did I expect any! However, it did seem that we were trying to play and that the commitment wasn't lacking. Which was also true last week. Therefore, I feel like this can be turned around, unlike two seasons ago under poor JK.

But only one score in it (what ever that means)

It means Bath are a really, really bad side. But much better than us.

I don’t think Bath or us are really bad sides.

I’m not holding myself out as an expert but re Comet’s Q, the injury tally must surely  be a huge part of the problem. When you look at the team sheet there are many second and third choice players in it. Also you’ve got players like Lasike,,who last season couldn’t get a game, and who are now playing week in, week out- rotation isn’t an option,  we’ve gone from one extreme to another!

A factor was the quality of Priestland (later Burns) in terms of his game management, compared to Marcus. Don’t get me wrong, Marcus is one of the stand-out performers, and obviously has a load of matches under his belt for his age. But he’s not got the experience of a Priestland or Burns.

A really, really bad side... Who are in fourth spot and (IIRC) have only been beaten once at home in the league this season... By a full strength, pre-punishment Sarries. Yep, terrible team.
