Quins posted an article on players at the world cup on the 27th August and didn't mention Bothma going. I thought it was a bit odd.
I checked the Namibia team and he was listed.
This makes me think it is a falling out and Quins knew before Namibia did!

He was in Durban for their pre-world cup training camp in a squad of 38. I would be absolutely amazed if he hadn't been picked for the final 31 so can only assume there has been a falling out.
Hopefully it's not injury related.
