I still don't get all this.  Reading around we are a "nasty" team, we are niggly, we harass the ref.  We are no different to pretty much every side I have seen this season.  Cant help but think people get pre conceived ideas and look for things to fit in with it, that they would otherwise not notice.

Maybe he should focus on his own very average performances, or the niggle from Daly and Carr.

I wonder if all this "quins are dirty" stuff is more or less entirely down to Marler and Sinckler. Every team has a hot head - it doesn't mean the team as a whole go out to be deliberately nasty. Still, as long as we stay on the right side of the laws I'm not fussed and quite glad if we do have a harder edge

Have had a chat with a local top flight ref, and he DID say that Quins (possibly meant Care & Marler) chirp away more than any other team!!!

Everyone’s a Quinner

A lot of people don’t like us, for whatever reason. Be it our kit, that we’re the real true Londoners, our attacking style etc.

A lot of fans and media have it in for us to the point that even when we do outstanding things they struggle to praise it. Must be slight jealousy and I love calling it out when people can’t say one good thing about our team or players; it’s just so clear they have a bitter taste in their mouths and not being fair in their judgement. Screw them, should be focusing on themselves and not us. COYQ

Then he should penalise us accordingly

As I said on the match thread, watching the game back I was struck by how frequently Wasps were pulling shirts and impeding off the ball; symptomatic of a sportsman who is not very good, in my experience.

Now with Shields' whingeing on top of all that???!!!! Wow!!!

I loved the 'circle the wagons' comment and the 'screw them all' comment! Could not agree more!!!! I hope that this gives the boys are bit of a laugh but also a bit of determination to keep battering and getting the better of the opposition (fairly), through skill, speed and creativity. Come on you Quins! We are proud of you all, boys!!!!!

It would not surprise me in the slightest if Gustard wants/enjoys this kind of feeling towards Quins, "us against them" kind of thing.  More of his mind games bits and bobs.

Players, teams and coaches that can't take oppo banter, niggle, whatever you want to call it, is, quite simply, laughable. Just deal with it.

But let's have a little honest look in the mirror, in terms of dealing with the officials, both DC and Marler often have far too much to say to refs, often to the team's disservice. Can't help wondering whether the absence over a couple of years of a consistent, outstanding and more vocal leader in the group has allowed certain senior players to take matters into their own hands. IMHO, in the absence of that leader, Gustard needs to get the group to buy-in to this not being acceptable and get whoever is captaining on the day to sort it out.

Well the way I see it, if the oppo are worried about a bit of niggle then we have the advantage before kick off.

A serious case of pots and kettles, methinks. Or maybe it is just symptomatic of the shrillness of modern comment/punditry. Twitter is about as much use as graffiti when it comes to properly expressed opinions, and encourages the shrill sound bite. Either way - how many years have we wanted an "edge"? When Martin Johnson was leading a formidable Tigers side, they were all edge, and we expected that. Ditto for Wasps of old. What goes around, comes around.

"Sir..Sir..He squirted water at me!...thats not fair"

"Well you retaliated and grabbed him by the throat so thats a Yellow Card"

Niggle, banter or whatever.  That must be the funniest thing I have seen in a professional rugby game for a long time.

(I know the dialogue isn't exact but it's close enough)

I seem to remember a game where one of the Wasps players tried to decapitate two of our players within a few seconds. The only double red offence I’ve ever seen. Far worse than treading on a foot. What have the Waspy whingers got to say about that. Oh and hasn’t that No8 of theirs been in trouble lately. In fact what’s their yellow, red, and suspension stats compared to ours this season.
