Odd use of the word desperate. Good headline writing.

Got to admit I have no real love for moneybags Bristol. Hope we stuff them. Will be a tough game though, that's for sure.

Steve Lansdowne of Hargreaves Lansdowne retired now but still a major shareholder done very nicely out of Woodford’s debacle. Let’s hope we get the W

Yeah Bristol.  Just a moneybags club.  No history.  No tradition.  No track record of big support.  Not exactly a city where people from all backgrounds play rugby.

Yeah Bristol.  Just a bunch of moneybags.

Are you for real, joking, or just don't know very much about rugby?

I really like Bristol - if I was going to pick a second team it would be them. Not that I'd ever need or want a second team but I always enjoy watching them play - Pat Lam always seems to establish an excellent club culture.

Cheers for the insult back. Great history. Huge support. Used to love my trips down there when I could make more away games. OK, maybe I was a bit harsh but personally have no real enjoyment about the way in which the game is becoming increasingly money oriented. The inflated salaries that are being paid by owners with seemingly bottomless pits of cash like Mr Lansdown are unsustainable for most clubs in the long run.

You might not like it but Bristol are just playing the same game that Quins have been playing for longer.  Bristol were rubbish for so many years not because they were some soulless rugby club, not because they  had no fans, not because they were without a history to be proud of but because they didn't have as much money as other clubs.

Clubs like Quins.

You are where you are because of cash.  Bristol didn't have cash.  Now they have cash.  Sorry if you don't like it but it's true.

I don’t get where you think I said Bristol were soulless, lacking fans or history. I fully accept they are none of those things nor have I ever thought they were.

My remark about moneybags was meant to be throwaway. I clearly touched a nerve and apologies for that.

I do have a bee in my bonnet generally about the way cash is at this moment in time in particular threatening the game at all levels more than it has in my lifetime that’s for sure. The salary cap was meant to be a leveller but it seems like that could soon go by the wayside if enough of the richer owners push for it.

And I fully accept we haven’t behaved brilliantly as a club at times in the past. I don’t think many have.

It's a bit rich being annoyed by wealthy clubs when our own benefactor has helped the club so much!
