Don't think I said Lawday wasn't a good player, did I? Just re-reading.............no I didn't.

I used a lot of Bucksquin's criteria and felt that a player at the start of his career was better placed than one coming towards the end. Presuming that Lawday is on more than Matas as he has had more game time and would be better remunerated.

Also, if we don't have our own opinions then this board doesn't really work, does it?

Perhaps JimmyG's point is how on earth can you (or I, for that matter) make that kind of forthright statement with any rugby credibility to it? The coaches who have seen these players play and train for some years now know them inside out. There are also other factors, such as salary cost, playing styles, utility, injury record, and many others.

No board "works" if you get a bit sensitive to criticism.
