I wish him well. In my opinion an unfairly maligned player, partly because people criticsed him for what he couldn't do, rather than recognising the qualities he did bring. He also got compared too much to Launchbury, as if it was his fault that we let Launchbury go

I thought he had a good season last year and would have really progressed this season with Codling. But its not to be and I wish him well.

I agree with the above comments. Unfairly maligned for not being the baby eating lock we all wanted, despite being far and away our best line out operator and, when the throwing wasn't wild, being a very safe pair of hands on our throw and often disrupting/stealing oppo ball.

Fairly maligned for missing so many tackles and giving away really stupid penalties, though.

I thought he was starting to get better in recent seasons. I liked him, always gave 100%. If he gets the right coaching I think he could still develop into a solid squad player.

Doesn’t carry well, doesn’t affect the breakdown and doesn’t tackle well - not going to be missed for me.

Pulls down players at lineouts to offer the opposition penalties.  Frustrating.

Glynn was being used as a lineout option before his injury.

I'd agree with all of the positives on here. Not so much the negatives. A lot of players missed tackles last season - that's one of the reasons why we leaked so many tries. I don't seem to recall him being too anonymous in games either. His good qualities and good games always seemed to go unmentioned. Not the world's greatest lock, but a solid and reliable player as well as a loyal servant to Quins, and a really nice bloke.

Best of luck Charlie, may you thrive in the new environment.

I agree with most of the positives and negatives, and like Fursty I'm not going to miss him much.

One of those players who you could see was trying his best but often seemed to be half a step off the pace.

Wish him well. Sometimes a new environment outside your comfort zone can bring a step up in performance.

Maybe the change will work for him - although Codling may have had that effect as well.

Wishing him all the best, except against us of course!

Hope he goes well. Bulking up 10kgs and working on a lower body position will make all the difference. Change of scenery could see a huge improvement.
