Well I prefer Lang to Smith at 10 at the moment, so we just need a third choice.

I thought Cat was terrible yesterday but don’t think he’s bad back up to Smith and Lang.  He also needs to avoid contact as he constantly gets held up and turned over, but he could fix the tackler prior to passing.  Merrick needs to become the bal carrier we need or move on,

Who came on, on Sunday to make Lasike go to flanker?

White came off, Cheeseman went on at 12 and Laskie went to flanker

Cat isn’t too bad.

Wallace should have been dumped about 3 years ago

Certainly think we need an experienced, top Prem-level hooker (especially if RB doesn't make it back), same at lock (maybe two).  Dombrant looks the goods, but I'm less sure we need Wallace, Luamanu (unless as suggested, he can find more fitness) and Clifford needs to fulfil some potential.

I'd say we need another very decent 9 - and an International class 10.  Ok at centre and wing, but might have an eye on a good replacement for Brown in a year or two's time - hopefully Morris can make a good fist of it.

Think Elia is well on his way -- but it'll take a season or two so agreed a grizzled old pro for a couple of seasons is much needed at 2.

9 is interesting, assume DC will be off post World Cup to earn his final cash in France, Waters looks like a great prospect. Lewis is a nightmare and has to go. Mulchrone however has been quite impressive when he's been on this season.

A number of us separately spoke to Rob B a few weeks back and he said he was targetting to be back in December. He certainly looked in great shape but said he naturally expected to take time to get really match fit. I really hope he gets back to the form of a few years back because that would be a great boost to our froint row resources. Luamanu is an odd one - I think I am right in saying he played every first team game for us last season due to our injury crisis and for that alone I would give him a chance. He has hardly played this year I think. I remember his original 'best bits' video showed him as an explosive runner in open play and we have rarely seen that. If Gussie has him focussed on fitness maybe he is waiting to relaunch him when the inevitable injuries kick in for others. Lukey Wallace must be injured because despite his drop in form since that terrible injury last season I'm sure he would have featured on Sunday otherwise.

Luke was posing for selfies in front of a Maserati on Sunday along with Matt Symons and looked in fine fettle.

Elia is I think a very good player already (Samoan international - not too shabby). I think people forget how young he is; if he can avoid injuries and maintain form, he could be around for a long time. Interesting to hear the commentators on Sunday saying that he played under-20s for Samoa at number 8.

Despite the obvious comments about Cat's fear of being tackled resulting in poor offloads - I noticed him put in 3-4 very good (and critical) tackles on some big forwards on Sunday - I hope this competition lets him get his confidence back and we see some of the Montpelier form later in the season.

The Cats tackling is fine.  Its when he has the ball and will be on the receiving end that the problem comes.  The bloke suffered an awful injury, its great that he is actually back playing.  Im not knocking him, I just think that it will take time before we see the Cat that played for Montpellier.  He is a much better player than we have seen at Quins and we need to stick with him.

Re scrum-half, I'd like to keep Danny but couldn't blame him if he wants to try something else after the RWC, same for Mike and Chris.  Despite that, while Waters, Saunders and Mulchrone are promising, we probably don't need all 3 (and would struggle to give them the games they'd want anyway).

Mulchrone will be 30 by end of season. Think he probably accepts he won’t ever be 1st choice

I'm fairly gobsmacked that some people want to get rid of Wallace.
