Talking about "football syndrome" at Rugby matches. Two weeks ago, I had an unfortunate encounter with a rude "steward" at the Saracens game at Spurs' ground. I didn't in the end report it (despite encouragement to do so).
Yesterday evening, I left my seat 9 minutes early & walked to the exit to the right of the North Stand. I stood & watched the last minutes with a long-standing friend there. We saw Riley's try and celebrated with a "high-five". Because my hip was hurting I partially propped myself against the guard-rail.
Then, a senior steward come up to me and shouted "Get out of the way!!!!!". No "excuse me please" or "can I come through ?". I didn't say anything, but was sorely tempted to admonish this person for their bad manners. I was not obstructing in any way at all.
This steward behaved in a rather rude manner. This person should realise that I (indirectly) together with all paying fans, contribute to their wages.
Yes... I get it that some fans can go over the top sometimes, but when stewards are rude it is something else.
I have always in my life worked on the principle that if you are polite to someone you will receive similar reciprocation as such.
BUT, I realise I might be naïve in this assumption.
