Interesting answers. I would just go. I'm not a fan of the bars anyway and don't tend to go there anyway.

Sitting next to a probable stranger.....would you? Really?

Agree with nearly 15,000, 1/6 is 2,500....but I'm still the block who needs to...!

You could use the empty rows to move in and out of seats...do you step up or down?
More importantly, what if you're not physically capable of either?

Myself i would just walk past them, same as I would in the street

My seat is on the aisle. There is no-one behind me. The seat next to me belongs to my wife (who may be strange, but not a stranger). Next to her is a good friend of mine who I went to the pub with on Wednesday night.  The seat next to him is typically empty.
Not everyone is in the same circumstances.

But, I am an adult.  I am able to decide for myself based on risk. And - most importantly, I believe that looking after my own health is my responsibility.
E.g. - my company has told us to go back to the office and I have been doing so for about a month.  They have introduced a load of safe working measures.  E.g. the cleaning crews sanitise everyone's desk every night. But, I take responsibility for myself. So, I clean my own desk and chair when I get in.  I.e. - I am looking after myself.
The point is - if I were to go to work and get Covid and die due to an incompetent cleaning crew, then my wife could probably sue the company and get a payout.  But, that wouldn't do me any good would it?

So - I would be happy to go to the Stoop - but, I would take measures to keep myself safe.

I would be happy sit at the stoop but would avoid the in door bar areas.

The biggest issue for me and i assume many is getting there, I personally wouldn't want to use busy trains which would leave driving which I also wouldn't want to do as I couldn't have a good drink (Rugby & drinking go hand in hand for me)

As I have BT Sport I will be an armchair supporter for the rest of this season as a minimum, unless we get to the final and if crowds are allowed I would then take the train option if could get a ticket or 2.

Thinking on this, if they 'could' allow say 3000 in the stoop they could do unreserved seating split between the 4 stands.

It would require people to sit separately based on their own judgement and a few steward to confirm acceptable distances from people or groups.

That way family groups, social bubbles or couples could then sit together.

It would only require common sense from the fans in attendance.

Hmm.

Do you think that would work, then?

Guys and girls I know that it is unknown and therefore scary. And the government did an extremely (too?) good job of persuading everyone to STAY HOME! But to pin your hopes of a return to "normality" on an effective vaccine seems like wishful thinking. There is no vaccine for the common cold (a Corona virus), or SARS or MERS, what makes you think they'll develop one for this Corona virus? They don't even know how it is spread for certain. It isn't, of at least they think it isn't airborne, but they're not sure. They think it may be spread by droplets (but it may not); it might be spread on solid surfaces, but it might not.....
But if you're under the age of 60 and have no serious underlying health conditions you are very unlikely to get seriously ill or die from covid. So yes I'd happily go back with my family now, I'm willing to take the risk.
But then I like chucking myself off of big hills on a bicycle and I love riding motorcycles.....

The difference between MTBing and motorcycling and going to a rugby match with a load of strangers, is that you could get infected and then pass it on to members of your family, for whom it could well be a very serious matter.

There was a programme on BBC1 the other evening

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000ljnb/surviving-the-virus-my-brother-me

Very thought provoking.

If you're under the age of 60, serious complications are still a genuine risk. You're less likely to die, but it can cause serious long term damage even if you're not hospitalised.

We don't have a vaccine for the common cold because it's a whole bunch of different viruses, and the common cold is... just a cold, so not worth the effort.

We don't have a vaccine for SARS because it was around for 4 months and then just disappeared.

We don't have a vaccine for MERS because there's been 2,500 cases of it in total.

We've never tried this hard to get a vaccine before.

It would be interesting to know the statistics regarding risk of COVID-19 harm and every other illness/virus/condition you are exposed too. If the chances of being harmed by Covid-19 are say 1% and the chances of harm from everything else is 3% are we becoming too fixated on one thing without considering the bigger picture. For example, while watching 24hrs in A&E they mentioned that 50,000 people die from sepsis every year. How many people are worried about that.

There are 76 people a day killed or seriously injured on the roads every day. Driving to the Stoop is probably fairly dangerous.
Put it another way, if 525 people lived 100 miles from the Stoop and drove to games, then statistically, one would die on the journey every year.
