Van Velze was being snide and overly aggressive the whole game, and Luke Pearce had to have a word with him several times. I can see why somebody would have been wound up by him.

Brilliant. So as long as the citing panel think Van Velze deserved a slap too, Crumpton should be OK.

If Crumpton is out I honestly think it's the difference between winning and losing. Our most important player right now.

So he's pleaded guilty in advance of the hearing and it's settled already.

Or that's your guess.

Or you can travel in time.

3 weeks it is, shame because he’s been quality so far this season... Arniepie must see into the future or was on the panel to give out the ban

That's a real disappointment.

Crumpton has been a key figure in the improvement we have made this season, particularly in terms of our consistency.

He has been impressive in every game. A real presence in the loose and his lineout throwing is also pretty much spot on.

If you had asked me to name someone I would cope with being sidelined for 3 weeks, he would pretty much be last on the list.

Ward needs to re-find his purple patch from the Autumn. Elia has only had bits and pieces this season after a lot of game time last season. He needs to take this chance.

Boy oh boy.

Is Elia fit?

Losing Crumpton is a real blow. Particularly given that the next few games could be the difference between a top 4 finish or not.

With Bristol’s issues at lock, the lineout could have been a real opportunity for us too.

Do we have an under-18s hooker that we could play in place of Ward?

I've seen brides toss bouquets more accurately than Ward throw in.

Elia wasn't on the 'Not Considered' list last week which suggests he's fit, just not chosen. Given Bristol's second-row problems Elia or even Ward may suffice against them, but Gloucester and Bath look much harder prospects now.

All this doom and gloom about Ward playing is rather OTT. His throwing has been much better this season.

Hmm, he was terrible generally when he came on on Saturday.

Just saw the clip of the alleged punch. Crumpton has definitely been hard done by. GJ started the incident and made numerous attempts to hit him but only struck him with his upper arm a few times whereas Crumpton was basically unlucky enough to land his one!
Big loss but hopefully will mean he’ll be back raring to go for sarries.

As for the next few games, I don’t know who I’d have more faith in. Elia hasn’t been great this season neither has ward.
