All the flapping really started for me when EJ took over England and I can only assume his message was that Danny didn’t do enough to influence referees at the breakdown or scrum. It’s what we felt made him better than Youngs who did that quite regularly and had the ball snaffled from under him.

I think if Danny was dropped from England with no obvious path back, he’d play a more natural game and we’d see the best of him again and if his form got him a recall into the World Cup squad then so be it.

His box kicking has always been atrocious though, so no real change there.

I seem to remember him doing it a W while back, I think around the time we had O’Neill’s as our kit provider in 2013 I remember him doing it a bit then

The bloke scored a great try and saved 2 others against us. I'm not joining the "Get Care" brigade.

Dont think anyone is trying to "Get" him.  More pointing out where his game is failing and how we are looking better with Mulchrone playing.  First 10/15 mins on Saturday I thought "ah, at last Care is concentrating on the ball. In and out, bit of pace".  He scored a great try but then seemed to revert back again.  The try he saved on our line from the scrum, from memory (and I stand to be corrected of course) he could have prevented by just getting the ball out anyway. Done well to stop the score but should not have been in that position anyway.

I think thathe would benefit from being dropped by England and starting each of the next four matches from the bench.
I agree with the adverse comments about his kicking game.  I also think that he is half a second off the pace with his decision making when feeding the ball out.  He's definitley lost his mojo and then frustratingly has one or two moments of sheer brilliance in a game - which (wrongly) keeps him in contention for a starting place.

He was dropped by England over the summer. He's only just made it back to the squad.

IT was suggested to me by a coach that he might be doing this because players aren't where they are supposed to be and he is buying time. This would make sense but for the fact that Mulchrone gets the ball out quickly without flapping.

Maybe Mulchrone just doesn't know where the players should be anyway.

I was critical of Danny Care's play last week, particularly his box kicks.  I thought he had a good game this week. His kicks were followed up or went deep into touch and his passing was quicker.

Good to see.

Sure, and my pet dog went to live on a farm.

I wouldn't know about that. Was it for some kind of sheepdog training?

It was confirmed by both Jones and Care that he was rested. Along with both England and Harlequins. It was the papers who claimed he was dropped

I fully believe that's good PR work but I will concede the point.

Going back to the original point, being dropped by England wouldn't help him as he already was deliberately left out of the summer tour.

DC is my favourite player but he’s been flapping and delivering slow ball for a season and a bit barring a few star player matches.

He’s got to stop it, England suffered too because he buggers about on backfoot ball.

When the ball gets nicked from your feet (saw it happen at least twice last season) because you’re too busy asking the ref for a non existent penalty - that’s an issue
