Timing just doesn’t sit right for me.

If it was club decision, why not earlier - why keep him for half a season rather than a new CEO coming in with 6 months left, just as player negotiations start

Add to that the relegation negotiations, the CVC offer around 6 nations, the relationship with Premiership Rugby just as structure changing.

Maybe it’s all part of a plan - hope so.

Ok so for those who doubt this could be bad for the club:

1 you think it was the club’s choice?

2 you think it’s a good time given the CVC cash and negotiation to change the CEO?

3 you think given he was leading the new stadium plan that it’s good timing?

4 why do we think he’s leaving?
- can’t get plans through
- isn’t getting finances to work
- not happy with board?

Not an Ellis backer or hater, just doesn’t feel like a good sign to me.

All very true but hardly putting the club in jeopardy in my opinion.

More likely to be something to do with Charles Jillings  and Duncan Saville (owners)  I mentioned last year that all our independent directors went last year and just DE and David Morgan who works with Charles left with owners to oversee the Club. Distinct feeling Charles was getting more hands on. Maybe something above my pay grade I can only guess at.

Except it’s crunch time for the future of the Prem and our ambitions at expansion and now we don’t gave anyone leading it.

So that to me is jeopardy.

I'm neither a lover or a hater but credit where credit is due - let's give him this one too:

The re-structuring of the entire coaching setup.

I'd say that's a biggie - okay, sure, he was overly loyal to JK but has since overseen the complete revamp of the playing side of the club and all the signs look very positive.

At the last fan forum, just after JK was sacked, DE said that the club wasn't functioning properly in any department, so much so that they had called in auditors to to do a root and branch review.

My view at the time was that he should have gone then so this is perhaps a year late but no bad thing

A clue to why DE is leaving might be found at his next appointment.

So does this mean the club is up for sale?

Yes, you mean he’s left for another job. It doesn’t make it better for the club.

Why would it? a CEO goes and a business is automatically up for sale?

Business is up for sale so the CEO changes maybe? Tiggers are selling up so not a big stretch for us to do the same. Wonder who will own the property though..?

Big Game is succesful not because of DE but due to ME and the fact that people have got Xmas Cabin Fever.

that was the result of JK’s review and recommendation

Sure - and JK deserves credit too. Still think the whole process was executed very well and the talent they identified (i.e. Millard and Gussy) shows early signs of serious promise.
