Shocking. When I was at university in London, we'd play our first game against Sandhurst and get slaughtered by fit, well drilled officers-in-training; our next game was almost always against one the of the London Met Police's divisions - I can't remember if it was "B", "C" or "D". What I do remember was being treated as a punch bag for wanna-be SPG coppers in the Met at the time. They were worse than Battersea Ironsides!

Played against RMA Sandhurst a fair few times. As a club side we literally mauled the Young fit officers off the field. Great memories of an 80 yard maul. Their band also used to play pregame and do the national anthem.

The best memories, just about, are from the food and drink in the mess afterwards. Great hosts never let us pay for a beer.

While I was at College our second team ( football) played a police team at the police sports place in Thames Ditton. I went along as a possible sub if needed. I was in the first team and we didn’t have a game. I ended up running the line and was abused and threatened by their left back. The game was full of scuffles and they were aggressive towards the referee. If police officer short tubby left back had said the things he said to me anywhere else it would have been threatening behaviour at the very least. I knew he couldn’t actually do anything and I reminded him that I was the one with the flag. I’m not even sure why I was running that side of the pitch but because of PC plods actions some or all of our goals might probably have been offside.
