you did well to miss the beer - the couple of Jesters pints I had were terrible - probably clearing last seasons excess !!

I did find a good beer though -- on the stalls outside they had a "something or other IPA" (fizzy hipster beer), which as an aging hipster I'm quite into. Actually a decent pint compared to everything else.

The cask bar in the Kings was foul last season, the beers were always totally dead and disgusting - they must do something wrong to the casks.

Yes they're not great. I had a couple of decent ones but in general they didn't taste great and had bad after effects!

Ps. They're still better than the ipa smoothflow crud however of the totally undrinkable ipa cask in the King's bar!

That sentence has no meaning in English. Unless you’re telling people Heineken is beer. But you can’t be saying that. So I’ll assume it’s Swahili and means something deep and religious.

Haha. From what I read the same can be said for some the ale sold at the Stoop.
It would be great get some different lagers instead of Heineken or Jesters, Camden Hells would be nice.

See I can agree on Hells, not generic Eurowater for people who hate beer! My main problem is I always forget it's about 5% and end up drunker than I'd intended...

But problem is Greene King are the partner, so we're not going to be able to expand that range...

Hmm, not a huge fan of Abbot, but at least the website has told me that the nice pint I found in all the stalls by the south stand is the East Coast IPA.

Thoroughly recommend it compared to all the other tosh.

Does it have that slight "lemony/citrus" taste a lot of these modern beers seem to have?

Yeah it does DOK I'm afraid, I know you're not a fan. I like them - but i must admit I don't like it when they make it too fruity.
