From the FAQs:

Any child aged three- four qualifies for free admission, however they will need to apply for a membership card to be assigned a seat.

Any children 2 years and under are classified as ‘babes in arms’ and can enter the ground for free but will share the seat with the paying adult.

So best to get his free membership for 2019/20 so his seat is there for when you need to start paying for it the following season...the membership office are very helpful with all this stuff.

As is the fashion these days, can I simply identify as a three year old and get free membership?

No, but you might be able to identify as someone who lived through both world wars and qualify for the OAP concession with that kind of attitude.

Annoyingly, the family packages now include only 1 adult.  So, I have a major price hike as I now have to buy a separate adult seat.

I thought that's what happened these days...

On a serious note, I'm considering getting my first season ticket. Previously it was a case of not justifying it due to playing most Saturdays. Then I didn't go often enough to justify it, although if I bought one I'm sure I'd go more (if that makes sense).

Any suggestions/warnings about what to try or not try? Is the expensive membership worth it? Is the cheapest membership not worth it?

Admirably, that generation were a lot more selfless than today's crop of ****s...

Quinky, I would recommend the top category for a wealthy man like yourself! Seriously though, whatever you buy make sure it's as high up as possible in the north, east or west. Halfway up the south should be high enough. The views lower down are rubbish.

More or less, what he said.

Certainly NOT in the bottom/lowest four rows - ABCD. People standing or moving in front of you will drive you bonkers. In the East you have the prevailing wind toward you, plus possibly the sun in your eyes. In the West consider which side of the halfway line you want to be? Access to Members Bar? Leaving the ground after the game? Seat numbers 125/126 are smack on halfway.

The posh seats are great if they work for you.

We’re in the east, so it could be a downside that we never use the members bar - but every time I do go in it’s a struggle to remember how it’s a benefit.

So, you do get the sun - so you can get a tan and wear shades which is a positive. It’s also v quick to get out the ground afterwards if you’re heading for the train.

But really none of the “benefits” make a scrap of difference - its just.a good seat. I’d go as close to the middle and as high up as you can afford - but personally avoid the back row coz you regularly get rude idiots in the hospitality boxes. Aim 3/4 rows from the top.

Yes I like the East, the little bit of solar radiation that you get on a cold February day can make all the difference between getting frost bite or not...
Definitely don't go lower than F.
I thought the renewels were really but I guess not. I think I'm going to be on my own next year. I don't think the wife and kids are renewing. They didn't make any games for about 3 months.

Rows k,l,m on the South stand are good.
The seats are cheaper, view is good, close to bars and toilet. Able to see the TV. No sun, dry when it rains.protected by the wind. Chance for banter with away fans and usually, not massively busy as it only usually gets full on community days.
Also, you can do the South stand rumble

Hmmm...seat reclassified, so a massive £120 for me.

I'm now a club member - does that get me access to the members' bar?
Apologies, I just seen the little red "x" beside that option - damn!

I thought there was an arrangement a few seasons back protecting renewing season ticket holders in the first few rows from paying club category prices. Was there an announcement ending this?

Thanks all, much appreciated. I've sat in many different areas in the ground, and I do recall sitting in the front row once. Fantastic view... of people wandering around, and often standing right in front of you for a chat.

QP - I wish I were a wealthy man! You're obviously thinking of Deadly ;)

I'll give it some thought and speak to the boss, as no doubt she'll want a ticket too...
