I thought there was an arrangement a few seasons back protecting renewing season ticket holders in the first few rows from paying club category prices. Was there an announcement ending this?

Yes, there was an email earlier saying so long and thanks for all the fish.

Your 2019/20 Membership Seat and Direct Debit Plan

Dear David,

I hope this finds you well and you are looking forward to the remainder of this very exciting season.
Looking beyond the current campaign, we will launch Harlequins membership for the 2019/20 season later this month and I wanted to remind you of our notice in March 2018 that your Club category seat, which has been priced as a Touchline seat since the 2013/14 season, will now be charged at the Club price appropriate for your membership type.

As previously explained, after six years paying a reduced rate, we are making this change to reflect the quality of the seat and to bring consistency to pricing within the stadium.

2019/20 Club & Touchline Category Pricing Comparison

Code: [Select]
Adult     Junior     Concession     1 Adult + 1 Junior Family
Club           £465      £180       £345           £485
Touchline      £345      £165       £225           £385

Full details will be shared later this month when the 2019/20 season launches, but as a Member paying by Direct Debit we have the following advice, depending on what you would like to do next season.

Renewing Your Current Seat

If you would like to remain in your current seat for the new season, you will not need to do anything. Your monthly Direct Debit plan is in place and it will automatically renew with the first of 12 monthly payments being taken on Monday 1st April as scheduled.

This will be based on the Club price appropriate for your membership type. We will confirm your schedule of payments later this month, in line with the Direct Debit Guarantee, ahead of your first payment date and your payments will continue as normal.

Moving Seat

If you would like to move to a different seat, we will be able to offer you alternatives from existing availability, but will also offer a moving window, exclusively for you and your fellow recategorised Members, after the renewal period closes in May.

This will give you the opportunity to select from seats vacated by non-renewing Members before anyone else. If you intend to move to a new seat during the exclusive window, we recommend that you do not renew your current seat, but instead call us to move on the day of the exclusive window. We will also support groups of Members looking to move seats together, though this will be subject to availability.

If you are currently unsure about moving to a new seat or know that you will want to move, we will cancel your existing Direct Debit payment plan so that a new one can be set up when you select your seat. If this is the case, please email us at customerservice@quins.co.uk by Monday 18th March so that we can cancel your existing Direct Debit.

If you have any questions regarding your membership or require any further assistance, please contact us at customerservice@quins.co.uk.

Enjoy the rest of the season.

Yours sincerely

More or less, what he said.

Certainly NOT in the bottom/lowest four rows - ABCD. People standing or moving in front of you will drive you bonkers. In the East you have the prevailing wind toward you, plus possibly the sun in your eyes. In the West consider which side of the halfway line you want to be? Access to Members Bar? Leaving the ground after the game? Seat numbers 125/126 are smack on halfway.

I forgot the most important criteria:-

1. Make sure there is not a dipstick sitting in front of you who will keep standing up, going to the bar, coming back from the bar and generally being extremely annoying.

2. Make sure there is not a dipstick - male or female - sitting behind you - or nearby - who will continually make fatuous or otherwise irritating comments at various times during the match.

There was an awful lot of discussion about this very point last year, when the announcement of the end of the ‘concession’ was made. Seemed to be a big split in wether or not the club had honoured the deal or reneged on it, the wording could have left either opinion credible.
I just don’t think that rows C/D are good enough to merit Club price, for several reasons that have been stated above in this thread.

Coming toward the end of the season. we will all have - metaphorically speaking - a clean sheet of paper to start with.

If you are unhappy with what is offered you - then don't buy it.

I'm available to do both, saving you half the cost.
