Easter was a one-off - pretty much the last international to come out of the amateur era. He never had the conditioning of the players around him but his positional game, offloading and durability more than compensated.

Chis is a product of a different era, and still only 23. It's a bit silly to make a direct comparison, or to write him off, when you consider that Easter didn't join Quins - or play professional rugby - til he was 26.

Easter was indeed  unique player. But I think his weaknesses - if you can call them that - such as pace, are not an issue with Chis. I don't mean to be disrespectful to Minty; it's more a case of being in awe of the player that I think Chis will become. Perhaps even attaining the stature that Robshaw has, who knows...

I'm with you Quinky.  Chis is one of my favourite players.  I was in awe of him when he first started playing in the a-league.

Many of the last board were suggesting that he was a player who we should let go based on the 'fact' that he was always injured and was ineffective.

We already have two Chizzes. It would be really confusing if there were three.

I believe all three brothers did play together in an A league game. I think the third brother is playing in the championship at the moment

I'm not sure Easter was much slower than Chisholm. Minty could shift for most of his career. Neither of them are rapid or anything but Easter wasn't slow until near the end.

He was a better carrier in the tight than Chis and had ridiculous skills to go with it. Chisholm has a long way to go to match him as a ball carrier, let alone as a lineout option, offloader, distributor, tactical kicker... :)

I’d say you can argue about the many merits of the great Easter and the promising Chisholm, but I can’t see how anyone thinks Chisholm isn’t significantly faster than Easter ever was

Is it a fair comparison? Chis is still younger and lighter than Easter was when he joined us.

And he probably doesn't smoke.

I'd say Chis is a bit quicker, but the rest of Jammy's list... there's no comparison yet.

I don't think Chis is particularly fast and Easter was much faster than people gave him credit for, particularly in the first couple of Premiership years. It's not a hill I'm going to die on or anything, I just don't think there's much in it.

Chis is no Tom Guest or Jack Clifford when it comes to pace, and he's probably not even Chris York. He's a quality young player and I like him a lot, I think he can do a job for England in the future. But Easter's skillset is beyond him.

Many?  Not sure that was the case.

Ah Tom Guest... I was always a fan. Freakishly athletic for his size. Very quick, great handling skills... And played at the same junior club as I did.... :)

I bumped into him the other day. He's lost weight and you'd never know he used to play pro rugby by looking at him.
