England open training session at HQ
« on: Friday 14-Feb-2020, 22:11* »
Anyone else go to the training session at HQ today. The full squad were there. Various drills and exercises, and a role play game, with some imaginative scores being put up on the score board. The whole of the west lower was used with, what? 80% occupancy.

An interesting hour or so.

I saw they had 10,000 people there. When I went a few years back it was easily half that.

Stewarded there and some good things about the day certainly, the match situation was good for the spectators....the organising of the autographs for the kids later was shambolic!

Well, the last time I was there was when Banahan played for England! They did a few drills, some opposed training, then started signing stuff for the crowd. Most players would do a little area about 5 metres or so of punters then go in. Took them about 5-10 minutes. Johnny Wilkinson started at one end of the stand and worked methodically down to the other end. He stopped for every photo request, he signed whatever people wanted, he chatted to everybody, he missed nobody out. It took him over an hour but he did it. He was fantastic!
