The man who had no chance due to being in the team at the same time as the greatest 10 in history? Yeah he gave up a big chance. LOL.

By enlarge all GP contracts end on 30 June so all players are in place for pre season, so I have heard the numbers are huge , more than twice what the highest earners are on in GP, he would have to be on a temporary GP contract with a club until after the World Cup, can’t see that

Bet he doesn't... The 6 nations next year would be an issue if he did go to France but I expect weasel (and even then not that weasley) words will be used to justify his inclusion for the World Cup.

I was about to argue that he could/would’ve been part of the squad and (as history shows) could arguably have played a part in the final.

Until I saw on Wiki (correct me if I’m wrong) but Evans joined Quins for the 08/09 season. So a year after a World Cup.

I could argue that as the no.2 fly half, Nick Evans would have won the World Cup in 2011 whether he had gone as the no. 2 or as it turned out first choice. He was always second to Dan Carter but would definitely have been in the World Cup squad .
Does the ticket include flights?
Are there any lawyers on this board who can tell me if Blucherquin’s statement is legally binding?

I assumed Blucher was talking specifically about a player leaving a club within the same time frame relevant to a RWC as Manu's situation.

But that isn’t what he said . Nick Evans gave up being in World cups by coming to us. Armitage did too by going to France . I’m sure there are more. blucher said that no player would give up a chance to win the World Cup .

Also you can earn just as much in the Prem.

Debatable. Whilst there is talk of the likes of Piutau earning megabucks at Bristol, it's unlikely that such figures are sustainable at present. Besides, if Manu were to receive anything like what Racing are supposed to be offering, then Tigers would need to seriously adjust their squad accordingly. That's without factoring the French clubs having a seemingly magical ability to simply conjure up a number that they pay their players, regardless of any financial constraints.

Personally, I think Tigers shouldn't fight too hard to keep him. If he's being offered the amounts of money that would set him up for life (and his family of course), then he'd be wise to accept it - especially with his history of injuries. Similarly, Tigers would be foolish IMO to tie up a big chunk of their salary allowance on a player who has struggled to put together a decent run of games in the past few years.

At the same time, it will be sad if he goes, from the perspective of club loyalty. Tigers have supported him and stood by him through a lot of trails and tribulations.

If you're going to France, you also have to factor in the "chomage" payments which mean that the French state has to pay you for a significant amount of time even if you suffer a career ending injury and have to retire.  Could be important to  a player like Manu.

I must have missed when this stopped being an anonymous forum for rugby bores and became a court of law.

If he goes to France he’ll still go to the World Cup - either by joining later or a form of words than gets around the totally not a law statement about playing abroad.
