“Plus, their cheering of Itoje's yellow card is not in the right spirit of the game, is it?”

We would do excactly the same at the Stoop only louder -I think you are being a bit pi there!

What does "a bit pi" mean?

I am not sure we do dislike Leinster - do we?

Test question.
English club plays foreign club. Whom do you support? (Generally speaking?)

That's all it is.
Agred I detest Munster after their fans behaviour at the Stop but the Leinster fans were great.
No Sarries fan for the obvious reasons but will always want an English team to beat one from elsewhere.

I think I dislike Leinster due to the previous Sky love in (same goes for Munster) and general smugness. All this "best fans in the world", "drop of the black stuff", "great craic" stuff irritates me somewhat. I also think they play pretty dull rugby on the whole.

Sexton didn't play for some time but was "fit" for the big game.

Just saying, like.

To be honest all, that's the main reasons I don't have support for Leinster or the Irish success in the 6N. You can't knock what they've achieved in Europe but it is built off the back of being able to rest their main players who play less minutes than their English counterparts across a season but always ready for Europe and Internationals. How good would all of our teams be and England if the key players missed 6 league games a season? Of course, we as fans wouldn't stand for it because we have a strong club game and a competitive league.

If I ever get a day to do it, I'd like to go back over the lat 5 years and compare all of the league playing minutes for the top international players.

Sounds like it was a good game, shame I missed it.

Sarries are a very good team. In the UK, they're the best that (unlimited) money can buy.

If I were Nigel Wray, I'd have bet one of my houses on Sarries winning...

Not sure that that is abusing the spirit and ethos of the game - and, as you say, you'd welcome it except that it would (rightly/wrongly?) deprive us/you of watching the players we wish to and have paid to see all season. I am not sure all theIrish players get as much time off as Sexton - he's older than most of the team and is a critical part of it - his absence allows his tenure to be extended, keeping him out of trouble and allows his understudy time to fit in/drive his own style - it seems like a good model to me. And if the rumours of ring fencing are true, something that the RFU may well do or be equipped to do, soon, if Clubs can be persuaded to release their English players more often.

There were some stats published at the end of last season - I don't recall where - that showed that for that season, some of Leinster's International players had played about half the time played by those playing International rugby for England.

A quick search illustrates this:- https://punditarena.com/rugby/smcmahon/difference-game-time-ireland-englands-top-players-startling/

What a fantastic weekend it was in Newcastle.

The Clermont fans were brilliant - travelled in numbers - the challenge cup game was much better than i expected. Played at a fast pace with lots of offloads a joy to watch.

The Main event however was a fantastic game of rugby. Sarries were phenomenal and thoroughly deserved it.

The Leinster fans were brilliant, Newcastle was a sea of Blue, definitely outnumbering the Sarries Fans. Spoke to a lot of Leinster fans and they were a good laugh and even in good spirits after the game.

hopefully one day we can see Quins in a Champions Cup final...
