Some perspective - an enjoyable performance against a Sarries 2nd Team with nothing to play for. I'm happy to take the win and put them away in style, but when you look at the 2 teams on paper, a win should have been expected. The next 2 fixtures are winnable - Irish (H) and Bath (A) but then we have Exeter, Bristol and Sale in succession. If we're still on a winning run at the end of those then I'll start to get excited.

I 100% agree that we need to put the win in to context, but we weren’t playing a first choice team either so we need to take credit for a very good team performance.

By my reckoning, we were missing both of our first choice props to international duty, we’re down to the bare bones in the centre and missing our first choice wing (Earle) and Brown at FB, so probably 6 from our starting XV and as many as 9/10 from our best 23.

Momentum and positivity are important so if we can back up this win with another against Irish, I’m hoping we’ll be in a good position to make use of the 6 Nations disruption to build some form with our injury list easing off.

Yes we were missing lots, both props, arguably hooker, both centres, full back and one winger. 7 out of our 1st choice 1st XV

"both centres" is underplaying it - you'd expect Tapuai, Saili, Marchant, Lang to be our primary options and Northmore ahead of Penny too!

We had 17 players injured and 3 unavailable because of NZ or 6N.

Great performance. Like some of the performances of old. Quick ball, forwards carrying well, lots of offloads and good support running. Smith was brilliant, Dombrandt too. Care playing quickly and not flapping or sending up poor box kicks. As others have said, we need to maintain that and not just put in decent performances at home / against Sarries. After a tough win against Bath, good performance albeit a loss against Clermont and then yesterday, things are looking up after the low point against Sale

For me, one major plus was how well we played in the conditions. It wasn't the best for running rugby, but we seemed to run everything. Some of our early season losses were in similar conditions, and the weather undoubtedly played a part.

For me, the low point was losing at home to Warriors.   >:(

Well I think the crowd deserves a pat on the back for their part in the victory. It was clear even before the first score the crowd was up and rocking and behind the team (yes, very unusual!). I was a shame about the booing of Saracens score but really I can't get worked up over it. It's exceptional circumstances, won't happen with any other team. I prefer to think of the noise we made from side to side and end to end supporting our team as they thumped Saracens with a palindrome! (41-14)

They deserve to be booed. Luckily we won't see them back at the Stoop for quite some time. Hopefully never.

Now grizzling on their board that the ref was against them. They were penalised THREE times during a game in which they were absolutely thrashed.

I thought Pearce gave a lot in their favour hut would need to re-watch. Certainly got the impression that a lot if decisions were going their way considering how comprehensively we were beating them.

Thought the booing when they scored was pretty funny really

I thought the booing was a bit strange but maybe the final pass on the 2nd try was a tad forward?

The video ref was in LP's ear all match calling penlties and offside against us but seemed rather quiet on the constant offside by Salaries and a few high tackles too. Plus the play on the floor at one ruck

Well the penalty count was Harlequins 12 Saracens 4, so the ref wasn't really on our side.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the penalties against us - I got the impression that they were mostly for offside (around rucks), tackler not releasing or playing the ball off feet - i.e. mostly around the breakdown and at line outs. Clearly what/where we need to work more cleverly. Against a more up-for-it opposition, that could have evened things up.

Yes, lot's of offside around rucks against us, none for offside from kicks by Salaries  >:(
