Well it looks terminal doesn't it? Perhaps we could add a round of fixtures to an extended season next year with home advantage decided by mutual consent/flip of a coin but with the home revenue being split 50/50.?

It’s not the Premiership just Championship and below.

"It was agreed that final standings for the Greene King IPA Championship and men’s and women’s community game would be calculated on a best playing record formula maintaining promotion and relegation for those leagues.  "

It would be really interesting (to me anyway :-) ) to see what the formula is.
Basically, here is the reason.
Assume Deadly is right and this becomes an annual event.  Then you could choose which games to focus on early in the season to give you the best results in the formula.
It would be a bit like cricket games where the weather is closing in and the team captain knows what the DLS targets are.  In this case, they actively try to increase the run rate in a specific over just to get ahead of the target instead of playing the innings according to the original plan.

What is happening about the Premiership?

That's for the PRL to decide (with some input from the RFU no doubt). They'll wait as long as possible before declaring the season over, in case some miracle happens and some meaningful games can be played before the summer & pre-season for 2020/21 season.

RFU announcement:

League positions for the Greene King IPA Championship, Tyrrells Premier 15s and community game have been confirmed.
RFU
Following the early end of the rugby season in England as a result of COVID-19, The Rugby Football Union has announced the final league positions.
Proposals from the RFU governance committee to conclude the season for those leagues at both professional and community level were yesterday ratified by the RFU Council.
It was agreed that final standings for the Greene King IPA Championship and men’s and women’s community game would be calculated on a best playing record formula maintaining promotion and relegation for those leagues.
As a result Newcastle Falcons have been promoted back to the Premiership, while Yorkshire Carnegie are relegated to National League One.
The Tyrrells Premier 15s season has been declared null and void as there is no promotion or relegation in this league.
RFU President, Peter Wheeler, said: “We believe that the decisions made provide fair and balanced outcomes for the game and maintain the integrity of the competitions. We have listened to recommendations from the heart of the game and the approach has been ratified by the RFU Council.
“This has been a difficult decision to make in the most unprecedented of circumstances. There is no single solution that will suit every club, but the approach taken is one that we believe best reflects the nature of league rugby in England.
“With 80% of the season complete for the community game, we believe our approach is fair and the right one for our leagues. We have clubs that are clear league leaders and those who have said they would benefit from relegation to play more meaningful rugby.”

So, with Yorkshire Carnegie relegated to National League One, this probably means that Sarrie$ will by at the RAA at least once, but maybe twice next season.  That should be good to go and watch :-)

I think we should declare this season null and void, and start afresh next season. My only reason is the pleasure of seeing Sarries at the bottom, on minus points, for about 18 months... and then seeing them relegated.
