Francis Saili

Looks like he’s off to France. Biarritz seems to be the location. Never really got our monies worth from him. So we are losing some expensive players, Sinks, Robshaw, Saili. We must be signing a few more big pay cheque players.

A talented player but complete sicknote and we were probably paying top whack for him.

We have a very decent 1st choice set of backs without him and a bit of promotion from within is worth a punt.

Normally I would agree about a few big name players, but this could be a chance to cut the cost of a few players in the squad??. However,  still being linked with quite a few players so I suspect you are right (Plus the fact that most deals would have been done already, pre Covid)

Good player but like others have mentioned, too injury prone to be worth re-signing on that kind of money. Especially with 12 being a relatively strong position of ours (when healthy)

Looks fully confirmed on twitter with comments from Care and Monye responding to Jean-Baptiste Aldigé. Guess this was always going to happen with the singing of Esterhuizen and Marchant signing a new deal. Shame it never happened for him at Quins.

Thanks Francis - gave everything when he was able to get on the pitch - but can't help feeling this is the right move for him and for us. Our options in the centres are really strong:

12. Esterhuizen/Lasike/Taps
13. Marchant/Lang/Northmore

And that's just my top 3 in each position. Be good to see if the likes of Lennox Anyawu can push on and add competition next season...

Am I correct to assume that will be both Marque player spots available? Therefore would Esterhuizen and Louw be the new ones?

Not sure about either tbh. Robshaw was apparently on 340k, Esterhuizen is rumoured to be on the same. Im not sure Robshaw was a Marquee player (Could be wrong).  I think Sailli and Marler have both been mentioned in the past. Considering we were chasing Du Toit, I suspect we still have a spot left

Apparently he only made 34 appearances in the three seasons as already said waste of money

And it wasn’t like his injury history was a mystery when he signed, felt like an attempted “high upside” signing but ultimately far too expensive a gamble

Don’t forget Campagnaro. Unfortunately, he’s another whose time at Quins has been overshadowed by injuries, but when he’s fit, he could be a good option at 13.

We only ever saw glimpses of his ability. Too injury prone to spend much cap space on. Best of luck to him in Biarritz.
