Trying to attach a picture but it won’t let me.

Trying to tap “Attachments and other options” as I’m using my mobile but it’s not doing anything. Sorry. Basically a picture of Sailis feet with trainers and Rugby Boots with him writing “Run forest ruuuuun.. Ooooo how good it feels to run again 😬🙌🏽”

Great to hear he’s running with the calf area being his latest injury setback

Blimey, might we actually see Saili in a Quins shirt? How long will this come back be? I'll go with 20 minutes.

The reason you can't attach anything is that it's not a simple picture on Instagram. It's a "story" with a small video loop (like a gif), which you can't get a link to. If it had been a simple Instagram post, thou'd have been able to post it.

Good news that he is nearly through his injury issues.

Thanks FearlessFred. You’re right I struggled with the gif, so I tried to screenshot it on my iPhone and attach the image but for some reason it still wouldn’t do anything when I tapped the “Attachments and other” option. Very bizzar!

Yeah, I had the same problem the other day. I don't think attachments are working for at least some of us at the moment. As an example, I'm trying to attach an image here. It's under 512KB - bet it doesn't attach. Yeah, didn't work. All that shows when I choose the file to attach and set to inline full-size image (yes, I've tried the other drop down options too) is the following code:
Code: [Select]
[attachimg=1]
Nothing after that. And I'm doing this from laptop. Something's not working right.

In the case of images, I tend to find it easiest to stick them up onto a free hosting service like ImgBB, which can then give you a direct link that you can use with the [ img ] and [ /img ] around it to post into a comment (removing the spaces between the square brackets & the img & /img of course). Remember that if it's a large image to start with [ imgsize=700 ] instead of [ img ] to make it readable.

A good workaround - thanks. Just feel like the attachment functionality should work though and clearly isn't for at least two of us. Have you tried attaching Fred?

Trying with a boring photo of my re-painted garage door (what I've been up to this morning!)  [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Well, that worked, but it's a faff, as the maximum single file size is 512kB, which is very small nowadays for an image. Plus there's a limit of 1MB (1024kB) on the total attachments to a post. To be honest, it's probably easier to use the external hosting service I mentioned beforehand!

Nice door, but still baffled as to why it's not working for me - especially as I compressed my image down so it was less than 512MB by a long way. Guess I'll just keep trying other different things...

This is the weirdest thread I've ever read.

It literally includes images that allow us to watch paint dry.

We've hit peak forum.
