Guard of honour
« on: Monday 21-Jun-2021, 15:16* »
Does anyone know when the players will be making their way from The Stoop to Twickenham Stadium on Saturday? It would be great if we could try to replicate "the Bristol 500" to warm up for the match and get proceedings started in style.

If the Stoop is closed they will come from Guildford by bus and go straight in? If they let the players in they will have a hard job keeping supporters out.

I wonder if there is any way we could make a virtual guard of honour?

Unfortunately, it looks like it can take a couple of weeks to get a personalised cardboard cutout...

Looks like the might be possible:

"We're going to Twickenham, our second home. We have the walk over from The Stoop, which felt so special nine years ago. We get to do that again."

The team will walk over but my understanding from a contact in the club is that COVID restrictions will mean we can't do a physical guard of honour - they are working on something virtual but can't make any guarantees given the short timeframe.

Quinssa update from facebook post

Guard of Honour walk from The Stoop to Twickenham on Saturday.

We can confirm that there will be a Guard of Honour on Saturday as the players walk from The Stoop to Twickenham Stadium. This will take place at 4pm.

Everyone welcome but please be aware this will managed subject to Covid restrictions.

We will be playing in our "lucky" away kit.

Also, the club will be bringing flags to the match, details of how to distribute in a Covid compliant way are being agreed with Twickenham Stadium.

Further details will be published by Harlequins later this week.

COME ON YOU QUINS!!

Be even better if we could then go back to the Stoop and watch the game there, albeit in socially distant ways on tables of 6 in the bars.....

Obviously being in HQ cheering them on would be better

Apparently an email has gone out to say this is virtual. Wondering weather I should just stay in the pub until closer to KO.

Yeah they’re doing a virtual one for the lucky few on Zoom, but they need the noisy mob there to see the team across. It’s been on Quinssa. Head over you won’t be lonely starts at 1600.
