Gussy's Programme notes for tomorrow...

...are up on the Offy now. The man certainly knows how to write a rousing piece!

THE LOUDER YOU SCREAM THE FASTER WE GO!

HEAD OF RUGBY PAUL GUSTARD'S PROGRAMME NOTES AHEAD OF SATURDAY'S MATCH AGAINST WORCESTER WARRIORS (KICK-OFF 15:00).

Good afternoon and welcome to you all. Firstly and most importantly let us extend a welcome to you, our most passionate supporters and loyal sponsors who have been waiting since November to see your team play once more at our home here at The Stoop in the Gallagher Premiership.

Our second welcome goes to Alan Solomons, his support staff, and the players and fans from Worcester. As always I know you will extend this hospitality briefly as we look to capitalise on the partisan support we want and need you to bring. Remember that an Englishman’s home is his castle and those that enter it who are not wanted must be made to feel our full wrath! So please let the boys hear your voice and feel your passion from the moment you hear our song when they take the field until the final whistle is blown and victory is earned.

We have not had a game for two weeks now and in that period we have looked to freshen the players and staff up by giving them some mental space away from the demands of training and high performance which then led into an excellent reconditioning phase prior to our preparation week for our visitors this afternoon.

It has been a great opportunity to assess, reflect and recharge for the next block of games. The players have applied themselves exceptionally well and we are pleased with the continued progression we have seen over the last few weeks.

We have been in good form of late with some important results recently including good wins at home and away in both the Premiership and Europe. We are showing signs consistently of being the team we can be, and the one we aspire to be, as we continue to develop and grow as a squad. I know that in this, the most competitive of all years, our position in the league is a true and fair reflection of our endeavour and resilience this season.

We have respected the heritage and DNA of being a Harlequin and will continue to aim to live up to the history of the badge by playing in a way that excites and enthrals, creates and converts, and challenges and conquers those that we play against. We want to underpin our performances with a hardness and tenacity that complements our style and earns your respect and support.

On behalf of the coaches, I can tell you that this is a group that are willing to push and be challenged in order to improve and, to a man, they have earned our respect and make us continually proud of their efforts. I am sure you can recognise bravery and courage when you see your team play and for that you will give them your full support.

They try unbelievably hard and in return they ask only this of you: cheer them, clap for them, shout for them and play your part in our performance. And to borrow an expression from the fairground rollercoaster: “the louder you scream the faster we go!”

Our boys are in great condition and spirits. They look after each other and care for each other and it is those very bonds and friendships that forge tighter links which will help propel us on. They have a singularity of focus on Worcester today and specifically putting in a performance that we need to continue to build on the momentum that we have generated.

The boys are prepared, energised, excited and ready to deliver - so the question now is are you?! Are you ready to give it your all, to give it your best effort? Are you willing to cheer till your voice goes hoarse? Or clap until your hands go red? Are you ready to show Worcester what it means to be a Harlequin? Are you ready to raise the roof and crack the floor? Are you ready to be our 16th man?

Being a Harlequin isn’t defined by what happens on a piece of grass within the touchlines. Being a Harlequin is an all-time thing, an every time thing. You don’t pick and choose, you always choose! You live it, you breathe it, you are it!

Come all without, Come all within,

You’ll not see nothing like the Mighty Quin.

Man is fast turning into a legend -- love it. We just need to win something and I'll marry him.

Some of his rousing chat is getting a bit much, but I still love how into it he is! He really does make you feel like he's a true Quin now - and I genuinely believe he loves being HOR at this club. All is forgiven for your years sporting the fez, Gussy...  ;)

Arniepie won't be best pleased. Or did you dump him due to his Youngs comment?
