OT Rail strike first 2 home games
« on: Wednesday 15-Aug-2018, 22:49* »
South West Railways have announced the unions are proposing to strike on 1st and 15th September.  Quins have home games on both dates.

I'll have to rev up the Heli-Butler again.

So far the strikes haven't been too bad frankly because it's holiday season and plenty of services still run. Other than having to pick your times carefully -- there shouldn't be any reason to avoid the station.

On the last few strike days the trains have been running but on a reduced service.  May be a problem  immediately after the match if too many go straight to the station. Maybe worth stopping in bar for an extra beer or 2 whilst the crowd goes down.

Not our bar where the real ale runs out in 2 minutes and the staff are clueless - better to go to the White Swan

Go to Whitton and have a pint or three in The Admiral Nelson. You might see Jason in there.

Then walk up the High Street and get the train from Whitton station.
