Ibitoye

Is going to be released by Montpellier & consequently will be clubless at the end of the season. I’m sure he’ll be picked up by someone quickly as his attacking talent is clear

I would thought French clubs might be hesitant now.

I’d probably take him back, but I don’t like the way he left, I’m not sure we need him and I’d rather we spent the money shoring up elsewhere.

Could be a good signing for other Premiership clubs. I could see him fitting in well at Wasps for example.

Indeed, and the way the French salary system caps squad numbers will also make it difficult for him to find another Top 14 club, other than as a ‘medical joker’. To stay in France he may have to look at the Pro D2.

I would have him back, we are still short a back three player, more so if Earle leaves as rumoured. But only Gabriel and the Club know how things lie between them.

There was a story that we were trying to get him back, but he was not that eager (wanted to stay in France)

Earle is rumoured to be leaving so I could see us looking for a another back 3 player (even with David coming in)

Earle extended his contract a year ago and I'd be surprised if it was only for one year, so I'll also be surprised if he leaves in the summer.

Unless he's going to Montpellier and there's a player swap option? Would still rather bring Lynagh through to be honest.

I’m pretty sure it was announced at the time that it was only a one year contract due to the horrific injury suffered which I guess was a safeguard for us if he didn’t get back to his previous levels

Wouldn't take him back. Assuming Earle stays, we have more than enough good players out wide.

He clearly saw a few pound signs, and left without dedication for the club.. which is fair enough but he marked his cards.

It's safe to say his trip across the channel has been a failure, and considering they are happy to release him suggests there's other issues connected to him (possibly attitude). Attack skills never in question but possibly his defence (or lack of) will be his downfall.

I miscounted; with Lynagh and Earle included we’d have 7 back three players next season, which is about right (albeit we always seem to be short of wingers!) So IF the reporting on Earle moving on isn’t true, then I’m not sure we’d have space to bring Gabs back (if that was on the cards).

If it came to that I'd rather Cassius Cleaves got the occasional chance.

Next season might be a little too soon.  But certainly with possible academy contracts for Cleaves and Slevin next year, and Oresanya the year after, we have a lot of talent coming through in the back three.

For me his defensive weaknesses outweigh his attacking strengths.  If we are short in that position, I'd rather a reliable player until we can give some of the academy lads a chance.  We already have a lot of talent in the backs.

I liked him as a player and his defence could be worked on but would I take him back, probably not now. Undoubted ability but he would have been better off staying with us and working on his game IMO. He would have has several games this season  had and could have really developed but seems he wanted to take the money and run, which is his choice but maybe not the best long term move. He needs to be playing regularly now so would think he's better off joining a club where he'll get plenty of game time and work on his defensive game.

I think Earle will leave which will be a shame brings so much both sides of the ball but his injuries have been frequent and lengthy I also sure they’ve taken there toll on him. I also think he hobbled off on Saturday to add to his misfortune. If we’re interested in Gabs I’d bring him back on a deal that favoured the club maybe an incremental increase based on appearances and success. Certainly let’s not go cap in hand to him more the other way.
