After 15 years and 300 games with the Harlequins, 66 caps with the England of which he was also captain, Chris Robshaw will soon wear the third jersey of his career. The 34-year-old English third-row player will play with the San Diego Legion, a Major League Rugby team with whom he signed a two-year contract last summer. Speaking with a BBC radio program, Robshaw said how this choice was dictated by the desire to change my life: "I have always lived in the south-west of London, having done my entire career and youthful streak with the Harlequins, I wanted something again".
This after also explaining to his mother that he is not going to the United States to play American football: "My mom thought I was changing sports, I had to tell her that football is something else entirely". However, the moment has not yet arrived for the debut with the Legion, in which, among other things, the other former English international Ben Foden plays, because he was disqualified for the Barbarians case. Meanwhile, Robshaw told of the MLR: “There are many players with excellent skills, especially at an athletic level. Many play rugby here but they could also have served in the NFL or chosen basketball for their career. The average level of skills available to the various team members is certainly growing ".
