Israel Folau expected to sign for quins!!!!!!!!!
« on: Wednesday 22-May-2019, 23:44* »
Only joking..(breath)...
but would you give him a chance and want to see him in the quarters?

No doubting his talent, one of the best back three players on the planet but is what he said unforgivable??????

Sale will probably sign him if we don't, they love rebuilding a bad boy and seem to be signing everyone.

I dont want him near the club. Not even riding past the stoop on a bike (yes that's a TV reference. Can you guess who said it and what show). I have no doubt we have LGBTQ+ supporters and if we're were to get him given his views that will make those supporters feel the club validates what he said so will not feel welcome at quins.

All very well having beliefs but when it encroaches onto other peoples right to even exist then that is not welcome.

It's a no from me.

Great player. I'd love to see him at Quins but not sure how he would fit in the team.

If he hadn’t said what he said, of course.

But doesn’t really fit with Quins wearing rainbow laces and Joe and Danny’s public stances, to name but two, about what he said.

So no.

I am liberal and i think anyone is entitled to their opinion even if i do not agree with it - the trouble with so called liberals is that they are very liberal as long as everyone agrees with their perspective - so yes all day long

He'd be an absolute PR nightmare for the club, would see us lose a number of supporters, and no doubt pee off a number of the current squad. On that basis I'm out.

No matter how many times someone says it, you refuse to accept it.

He signed up to an agreement that says he can’t publicly hate gay people - he broke it. It’s that simple.

Quins publicly support equality, diversity and respect.

On a personal note if you think it’s ok to hate people for their sexuality, and to express that view, well I hope you don’t sit anywhere near me.

No we won't. We backed out of the Jackson deal and Dimes has publicly said previoulsy that we want nowt to do with Folau.

And, of course, just signed one of the best English full backs currently playing.

I would not want him at the Stoop.

He's entitled to believe what he wants in private, but he doesn't seem to understand that what he says is harmful to the sport and to the people against whom his comments are directed. Your rights stop where they start harming others, especially when you have a contract that explicitly says that.

If he showed any awareness or contrition, it might be a different story, but he hasn't. And Blucher is right - several of the squad would be very uncomfortable having him around, though I suspect that Joe would have a field day winding him up.
