Who selects these? Seems very random in terms of timing - Funbus joins this year but Rob Baxter joined in 2014/Martin Corry in 2013? Kyran Bracken before Matt Dawson? All a bit weird!

Still, very happy for both!

The answer may lie in this sentence:-

"And he continues to break new ground as earlier this year he was appointed chairman of the British and Irish Lions board, having previously also been president of the RFU since hanging up his boots. Not bad for a carpenter from Barking!"

But looking at the others mentioned further down the article, it does seem strange that he wasn't already in the HoF...

Yeah, feels more like they looked at their list and realised there was a massive oversight... Literally massive. You can't miss the guy.

It's a bit weird isn't it? Not any evidence that anything exists in reality - not even a board with some names on. And the order of "induction" is weird too.

It's really odd.

Mainly why have a Hall of Fame if it's just a list on a press release?

I guess that Catt got onto the list due to being a "Player of the Season"  - here are the rules:
( I don't know how 12 x 2 = 28????  And - we need Deadly to do a grammar check. )

"The Hall of Fame initially included Premiership Rugby’s Players of the Season from the start in 1997-98 and the oraganisation’s Director of Rugby of the Season.

In addition to those 28 players and coaches each year Premiership Rugby will appoint a distinguished panel to select an additional inductees to be honoured with a place in the Hall of Fame each year.
"

and from Wiki "Whilst with the Exiles, he enjoyed a fruitful twilight of his career and in May 2006 was named Guinness Premiership Player of the Season."
