Kruis to Japan

Assume he is a big earner. Wants to continue earning big so Japan may be a little easier on his body.

The first of a few to be released. I expect Wiggelsworth, Barrit and Figallo to leave. That along with Liam Williams is a lot of wage leaving the club.

They seem so think the new younger generation are the clubs best chance

Makes sense for him. Means he'd miss out on next Lions tour, but no guarantee he'd go anyway, then can come back and try to get back into the squad for 2023

Shame we can't get Williams for the rest of the season

So the fallout is now damaging England. Although arguably he might have been pushed out earlier anyway had the salary cap been adhered to. Still I don't see the advantage in releasing him at the end of the season if the intention is to reduce wages paid out under the salary cap.

Well, the Japan Top League (their domestic competition) starts this w/e. Could be he's off before the end of the PRL season...

The Japanese league is a bit of a mess currently.  They are playing two seasons this year to compensate not having any rugby during the world cup.  After that it is up in the air about how they are going to move forward.

I wonder if this was going to happen anyway and is not connected to the cap issue.  If it was surely he would go earlier than the end of  the season.

I can imagine a scenario where Eddie Jones has already spoken to some of the older players in the England team and identified one or two areas we must try new combinations.

Kruis may have been given warning that he won't be picked.

I think Jones may have remarked Johnny Hill from Exeter to pair up with Super Maro.
