Kwagga Smith
« on: Thursday 10-Jan-2019, 18:04* »
That nice chap over at RIL has linked him to us.

I do like these little rumours that float around from different sources, even if they come to nothing

PS, he is a flanker from SA

Kwagga is a brilliant player, remember first seeing him for the baabaas across the road and he was everywhere! Would be a great addition to the team

Just looked him up on the oracle that is Wiki.  Has him listed as 5 11 and 14 st 9. not very big for a back row (I know size is not everything).  Arniepie, could this be the Int SA player from Japan you were talking about?? (I know you said he was a lock, just wondered if it was lost in translation some where)??

Kwagga is super quick, relentless, very good over the ball. He is an all action back rower. Like a very quick Neil Back.

I would be surprised (but delighted) if he came to us. He is 1 of 19 new Bok caps issued in 2018. Unless Erasmus has told him he's surplus for RWC surely he's going to stay put.

Ah, 2 threads.

He was linked to Gloucester and another club not long ago, so his agent is busying himself.

Very good player. Not sure how his international future looks, as the Boks have their usual busy production line of back row players...

At the moment I think any South African is linked to Gloucester

Has Rassie shown any more than a passing interest in playing him though? He’s probably 3rd in the pecking order at best.

He’s a quality player though and would be a great addition if we can get him.

looks like RIL has deleted that tweet as when clicking on it a message comes up about it not being found.

Perhaps Smith said his favourite fruit was quince, and RIL, being the knob he apparently is, got the wrong end of the stick.

Jammy has mentioned numerous times that this guys deletes tweets so people are less likely to pull him up on his BS.

I really don't get why so many of you have an issue with RIL. It's actually a team of guys I think. But they're putting out rumours - they're not claiming to know for sure (although on the Kwagga Smith thread they claimed that Evans from Tigers is a done deal). Even if it turns out not to be the case and Evans stays at Tigers, why do you all care so much? It gives us something to talk about - bit of fun, surely? I mean, it's rugby, not the downfall of the NHS or Brexit or the miraculous rebirth of Hitler. And when they do get it right (which they quite often do) you don't exactly come on here and give them credit when it's due do you? Lighten up, transfer gossip is meant to be fun.
