Interesting to see in that article they say than Lang is looking to be the first choice 12 for us. I still think he may be a longer term 10 than 12. He's more steady than Smith, which can suit some games more, and he has a good boot/aim.

I am way less confident about Lang. I think he has a long way to go before we can trust him to play premiership rugby. Maybe Gustard can work miracles with his defence.

Surely the fact that's he's playing international rugby is a good indicator?

I'm gobsmacked he's doing that, really. He was picked as a potential one for the future - it certainly wasn't because of his performances for us.

Interestingly - unlike my comments on the Wallace thread - I rate Lang very highly indeed. I think he is a future star. Funny how we all see things differently

I think he's a fantastic young player, still a little to learn but really not far off an exceptional player.

Well he is not one of those players whose name you see on a teamsheet and groan, for sure.

I agree that he is going to be a very good player for Quins. I would not be surprised to see him as a starter come the end of the season.  Need to keep the Scottish sides away from him

Like most players , he is keen to get on the park anywhere he can , and if Townsend picks him at 12 then he's not going to turn that down - Townsend says he is a first rate ball carrier and tackler .

Personally when he played a couple of A games at Full back I thought that was where he looked most comfortable , tackled well and a cannon of a boot .

I also recall him spilling the ball away at the Rec last season when he moved to 10 for Marcus early on , and chased from 22 to 22 to get it back , turned it over and gave it to Gab Ibitoye who ran the length to score .. good attitude.

I think he can cover 10 , 12, 13 , 15 so a good ' game changer' :)

He is a very good prospect and I’m a fan. A way to go though to be a top prem player, let alone international, and his defence was no way good enough when at 12 last year. Big issue for him will be game time and getting the experience he needs. He could be one of those that never makes it and fades away. Hope not.

Pedant moment ;-), ..chased back and made the tackle that forced the ball free for Swiel to pick up and to pass to Cheeseman who passed to Ibitoye who then ran from the 22 to score.

More memorable for me was the bath front rower who tracked back on Ibitoye, nearly caught him.

Agree with your post re good game changer, just a slight concern on his defence at 12 against big ball carriers but definitely good prospect who can make things happen in attack. Hope we can keep him

haha . well done fandg2 .. always happy to get the facts right ! , not easy to remember all the detail with those 2 pint pots at the Rec ,  I think it was Max Lahiff that chased him down which was a good effort .

Add to this we have Cheeseman and Laskie.  Some exciting centre options. Im also a Cheeseman fan. just hope we stick him to one position and give him a chance.
