HARLEQUINS IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT SECOND ROW GEORGE HAMMOND HAS SIGNED A NEW DEAL WITH THE CLUB21-year-old lock Hammond is the sixth Harlequins Academy player to sign a new deal with the Club and the 17th re-signing across the Club since January.
Representing England at U17, U18 and U20 levels during his career to date, Hammond signs a new deal with the Gallagher Premiership champions to extend a nine-year relationship with the Club.

Hammond said: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal with Quins. This is my boyhood club and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time progressing through the ranks within the academy system and going on to earn my first games within the senior team.
“As a second row your main role is to secure set-piece ball for the side, but I find huge enjoyment in playing for a side that plays the style of rugby we do here at Quins. We’ve established a great culture here and have worked hard to tap back into our historical DNA as a Club. I’m excited to continue to work hard within an exceptional team.”
Lineout and Defence Coach Jerry Flannery said: “It’s great to have George sign a new deal. He’s a promising young lock and a great lineout operator. He’s the latest of a line of Academy products to recommit to the team, which is a huge credit to the work being done within the age-grade system here to produce homegrown talent."
