Live Streams
« on: Saturday 04-Jan-2020, 14:34* »
Thought some people might like details of how to stream all rugby games. Watched Quins at Wasps the other day and now watching Leicester v Bristol. Excellent quality and English commentaries.

Once again I'd remind you not to download anything, don't agree to install anything and ensure you're running a good virus checker if you use one of these. Do not believe anything which says you must install it to see the streams.

My first use attempted to require me to install the malware "multy search". I didn't, and the second time I just went to Amazon Prime login. At that point the stream worked.

These malware installs rely on you clicking on innocent looking buttons/area to start the install process. Then they need you to agree to the install. Don't do it. Walk away and try another of the streams or shut your browser and start again from scratch.

Apologies. I have a Mac, so never have to worry about such problems. Occasionally they'll open another window, which I simply close.

Hey no apologies needed. It was a good suggestion, and for people who know the risks it's up to them to work out the cost/benefit. In my experience most free streams are the same, there's always some point where they try and persuade you to download/install something. That's why I use the rugbypass solution, where I pay them money for the streams and they deliver a solid product with no malware.

I noticed - I mean someone told me ;) - that when using Vipbox, the stream only starts just seconds before kick off. Until then, streams are offered but they all go to a sign up screen. These all seemed to be foreign streams up to that point, on Friday. Apparently. The eventual stream was good and had English commentary. The content ends straight after the game too, no interviews etc.

Agree entirely, far safer and more reliable and with a good quality stream, much cheaper than a Sky subscription too! A little bit of pfaffing with location via a VPN but worth it. When my last subscription lapsed, RP said that I needed o subscribe at full cost ($160 / year) as the old deal had expired. I left the sign up screen on the payment page while I looked for vouchers online, when I went back to it 10 or so minutes later, it was offering 25% discount so works out about £100 / year
