not sure I agree with that, if Sale poached the player after he singed for Gloucs, Gloucs should get some kind of compensation as have to find a replacement at short notice and Sale should be punished.

Steve Diamond, the Sale director of rugby, implied that the Rugby Football Union had been biased against his club during a major disciplinary hearing.
Sale received a suspended five-point deduction over the signing of Rohan Janse van Rensburg, who also had a contract with Gloucester. The South African centre was fined £32,500 and banned for two weeks. Van Rensburg’s agent, Matt Ginvert, was fined £3,750 and directed to undertake the agents’ education programme.
Van Rensburg joined Sale on a permanent basis ahead of the 2018-19 season after a loan. But it was revealed at the hearing on April 15 that he had also signed a deal with Gloucester. Sale were charged with breaching a regulation relating to approaches to players. The RFU said both club and player accepted the charges.
However, an extraordinary written judgment of the hearing reveals that Diamond implied that it was “not fair” and effectively weighted against his club and that Ginvert’s submission had been preferred “so that the RFU could get at Sale”.

Diamond is said to have claimed that Ginvert had told him that “the RFU had agreed to the outcome with Mr Ginvert on the basis that Mr Ginvert give a statement”.
“The implication of the comments made by Mr Diamond were that the proceedings were not fair, and that Mr Ginvert’s interests were being preferred so that the RFU could get at Sale,” the judgment noted.
