I don’t see him getting a look in with England, but it would be great to have him back to his best for Quins.

I would be surprised if he is in the 23 if we have a fully fit squad.

Weather can and does change my friend. At the moment and especially under new management who knows. Once fit a clean slate for everyone in the squad. Will be interesting to see what happens this season as it goes on with regards to who steps up to the plate

If he's fit and firing on all cylinders he's a nailed on starter for me.

For me, Luke Wallace hasn't been in a position to shine since Minty retired. For Luke to be one of the first names on the team sheet, you need a bulldozer of a number 8 to be one of the first names too - if you don't have that, he doesn't make the team. He's not a carrier in heavy traffic, he's not going to break the gain line for you time and time again, he doesn't have astonishing pace. He is a breakdown specialist and for me that's the very simple explanation for why he doesn't nail down the 7 shirt for club, let alone country. His all-round game isn't what you pick him for - so you have to make up the rest of the skills you need from your back row in picking a 6 and 8 who can do the heavy lifting in the loose and leave Luke to keep the turnover ball coming and make his tackles. Luamanu has not been consistent enough, Bothma has been broken the majority of the time, as has Clifford, and that's only left Baby Chis to perform that role - he's done very well, but he isn't exactly huge and is more of a pacey 8 who can kick out of tackles when the game breaks up. When games are tight and defences are prevailing Robshaw, Wallace and Chisholm are hardly going to get us through the mud. I'm not surprised Gussy wants a bullocking 8. Of course, if Bothma can stay fit and hit some form then we might be alright...

I have very little time for Luamanu, who doesn't seem to have the ability to play for more than 20mins - perhaps Gustard will do something about that.

Wallace has little impact for me, apart from being stood on the wing all the time...and then ends up getting what would be a great pass if he was actually a winger!!!!!!!

Not sure White has the skills, Ward also lacks impact, good over the ball though.....

If Gustard lasts a few seasons it will be very interesting to see what he does with the squad.

With all due respect, and I don’t mean to come across as argumentative at all, more just my view:

After last season with injuries/running on empty tanks/management change over etc the best thing we can do as supporters of this great prestigious rugby club, is to give the players, and management time. That has started this preseason with a new direction to follow with regards to new shape, team and tactics; but will need the season to commence to practice this.  After (hopefully) some games trying these things out in a game capacity as opposed to training, we will really know how to cook with gas and with what oils and pans best to use to get the results we strive to achieve.

All happens with time, and, although quick changes needed to happen by the end of last season and did, we must give time for these to take effect, especially if we want to be more successful in the long run.

Clean slate for everyone in my own opinion. We have over the last couple of seasons put up with dismal shows etc but if we want positive change then more time we must allow to give as supporters.

From a players perspective, a new direction/approach to what type of rugby we play and how we go about it, needs adaptation. Some players adapt quicker than others and for some this new style may or may not suit their own attributes. As I say once we’ve grown our teeth we can start to bite, and only then we will know how much we can chew. Until then, we must give them time.
