World Cup squads are always about adaptability. If he can play multiple positions, then that is in his favour for a squad and potential bench spot.
However, with Nowell able to play wing, centre and full back, as can Slade (Minus wing), his chances are limited.
Agree, very chuffed re his chance, he defo deserves it.
Absolutely, adaptability/versatility is a great attribute. But as CJ mentions above, I'm not sure that's what Eddie is looking for from his centres (although Marchant's ability to cover particularly wing is a useful added bonus). And I'm not sure why he needs to show he can cover 15. Has he ever played there for Quins in a remotely competitive game?! I can't remember him doing so in any game. So now of all the times is NOT the time for him to be training there. I'd rather someone like Daly or Watson - who have both been stationed there for extended periods in an England shirt - showed they can do the job at full back without making me soil myself every time the oppo put up a high ball or make a bust through the middle of the park. Until then, they will remain last resort back-ups to Brownie and starters against weak pool sides in my mind, if not in Eddie's.
